Greatest TV character.(American TV) according to TV Guide. From TV Guide:
"As any devoted fan of the original series knows, he is the son of Sarek, a vulcan, and Amanda, a human. He martriculated at Starfleet Academy in 2249 at the age of 19. He served for 11 years under Christopher pike. He became a legend as perhaps the most intelligent and Charismatic second in command ever to traverse this or any other galaxy. What made him so fascinating was the struggle between his computer like Vulcan mind and the irrational human emotions he was raised to repress. As a result,any evidence of Spock's internal conflict that actor Leonard Nimoy relayed to us, an arched eyebrow,even a stab at humor, was riveting. Whether he troubled with tribbles, startegized aginst Klingons or meditated among his own crew, Spock was always the voice of reason and compassion. In his right mind, he never resorted to violence more forceful then the Vulcan nerve pinch, prefering to purse his prime directive: "Live long and prosper".
No other Trek characters, but Avery Brooks made it in with Hawk from "Spencer for Hire" at number 37.

"Who's Louie de Palma?" Sheesh, the younger generation. . . Devito is a star BECAUSE of Louie. Before your Cheers or Friends or Frasiers, "Taxi" was THE comedy show to watch. Also featured Jeff Conaway (aka B5's Zack Allan) and Christopher Lloyd as the mighty Reverend Jim.
Archie Bunker was the main character from the US version of "In Sickness and in Health" (a UK comedy show). Barney Fife I don't know. . . I'm impressed that the odious George did so well.

Every time Zack came on screen I heard "Wheeeler, you loosser". TV guide called him the meanest guy from A to Z, and listed words for most of the letters. I tried to link to louie's story, but couldn't get it to work. Follow TSN's link, click on the thumbnail cover with Spock's picture, then click on Louie De Palma on the top ten list.

Emma was from a show called the "Avengers". A very good show. There was an attempt to make a movie of it, but it disapeared from theaters after about six hours.
