REDNECK HAIKU

BEAUTY
Naked in repose
Silvery silhouette girls
Adorn my mudflaps

REMORSE
A painful sadness
Cain't fit big screen TV through
Double-wide's front door

MOTHER AND CHILD
Crusted in boogers,
Stained with Kool-Aid, baby has face
Only Mama loves

BLAZE
Distant siren screams
Dumb-ass Verne's been mowing with
Gasoline again

A NEW MOON
Flashlights pierce darkness
No nightcrawlers to be found
Guess we'll gig some frogs

EXUBERANCE
Joyous, playful, bright
Trailer park girl rolls in puddle
Of old motor oil

ALONE
Seeking solitude
Carl's ex-wife Tammy files fer
Restraining order

DESIRE
Damn, in that tube-top
You make me almost fergit
That you're my cousin

HATRED
I curse the rainbow
Emblazoned upon his hood
Goddamn Jeff Gordon

OFFERINGS
Tonight we hunger
Grandma sent grocery money
To Robert Tilton

DRAMA
Set the VCR
Dukes of Hazzard Marathon
Starts at 9 O'Clock

DEPRIVED
In WalMart toy aisle
Wailing boy wants rasslin' doll
Mama whups his ass

NO SIGNAL
White noise, buzzing static
Call Earl; the satellite dish
needs new descrambler

IMPOUNDED
Sixty-five dollars
And cyclone fence keeps me from
My El Camino

GATHERING
In early morning mist
Mama searches Circle K for
Moon Pies and Red Man

PRIDE
Grinning, he displays
The nine hundred beer cans that
Fill his pickup bed

Because I am an angry and jealous person, I am proclaiming a moratorium on any and all political comments that do not begin with the words "Sol System is my watchword." We've got a Flameboard for a reason.

(Sol System is my watchword.)

He's talking about UM... a typical Gore voter if there ever was one... full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Sol, thou does seem to have become obsessed with becoming the grand lord and almighty being. Are you perhaps power-mad?

First: ACtually, UM's a very funny and sharp individual who enjoys screwing with peoples minds. Possibly for some sort of sexual and/or sadistic pleasure. All this, despite being Canadian. Ifd that's the sort of person that Gore attracts, then I'm all for Gore.

And anyway, UM's voting communist. Communist all the way. (I'm facist personally. At least they get the bloody job done).

I grandly suckle at the tit of the very maligned and ideological forefather of the worker's union, Lenin.

Your country is pretty messed up if a typical Gore voter is a Canadian teenager. (Although, I do suppose I could've snuck into Minot and voted. Silly Minot.)

Communism. The most socialist of all the 'ism's. It's in you to vote.

Please vote for the Communist Party of Canada This November 27th.

Power mad? I? Surely not. Well, ok, but just a little.

But more importantly, I have heard enough political discussion to last thirteen thousand lifetimes, and at this point would not care if the Electoral College was taken over by Richard from Survivor and cast all their votes for giant sentient Venusian burritos.
