Hello. Remember me?

I should hope so. It was exactly 2 months since I last posted saying I was leaving for United States Navy boot camp.

I Passed-in-Review yesterday (0205.10) in my dress white uniform with the Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy ((MCPON)the highest enlisted person in the Navy) as a guest. It was originally suppose to be the Chief of Naval Operations Admiral (4-star) Clark. But oh well. Anyways, I'm on liberty weekend using the computers here. I'm surprised they even have them.

As for boot camp itself. In a word, "sucks". Chiefs and Petty Officers yelling in your face, inspections on how your underwear is folded wrong. But it's only temporary, once I get to my A-school at Corry Station, Pensacola FL it will be much easier and more enjoyable. It's not that boot camp is hard, it's not. No running 5 miles in the mud with a 50 pound seabag on our backs or anything.

Basically we get up at 0400, strip our racks, then have 12 minutes to remake them with perfect 45 degree corners. Then we march to breakfast. Do classes or PT. Then eat lunch at 1100. More crap. It's actually a busy schedule and takes a while to get use to the long days. Then finally we go to bed at 2100. That's 9PM by the way.

Here in boot camp you're tested in two very important factors. Physical fittness and academics. You must pass all 4 exams and PT-2 and lastly Battle Stations. All of boot camp leads up Battle Stations. It starts at about 2200 and goes till 0800. Your tested on line handeling, fire fighting, abandon ship, and other things. Once you complete it, you turn in your Recuit ballcap for a Navy ballcap. Pass-in-Review is simply a ceremony, Battle Stations is when you're truely considered a sailor.

I'm in Division 192, lead by three Recuit Division Commanders (RDCs) basically the same thing as drill instructors. For anyone who is stupid enough to consider joining the Navy, remember these words, do what you're told, when you're told, and how you're told. As long as you don't fuck it up they have nothing to yell at you about. [Razz]

However, there is one bad thing. While here I injuried my left knee which was previously fractured. My recuiter knew of this and instructed the me not to tell the MEPS (Military Entrance Processing Station) doctors about it. If I did, I might not have been approved. Anyway, when my division leaves for their A-schools on 0205.16 I'll be stuck here on medical hold until I heal and complete my training.

This is about the only time I'll be allowed on, I'll try back later today and tomorrow though. Until Monday when liberty weekend is over and it's back to the routine.

Just hope noone forgot about me, otherwise with my Electronics Warfare Technician skills I'll direct that missile to your house. [Wink]

Catch you all later.

I did the same with a broken foot in the Army... It sucked too....

Good luck....

No running 5 miles with a 80 pound ruck???? Say, I should've joined the Navy.....

The good point is that you will get to see a lot of the world, just remember that the worlds surface is 70% water, so it will look pretty much the same anywhere you go....

This is the fault of Sean Ainsworth, who I sat next to in a creative writing class this semester. Every other word out of his mouth was "dooooooode"

Dude, where's my car?

Anyway, it's still gonna some time before I can regularly post again sadly. Another month at best. Oh well, I knew this going in... but it doesn't mean I like it.

Catch you later dudes.

I know my sig is too long, but this crappy government browser doesn't seem to let me into my profile to edit it.
