I tried to change the genre of a group of songs on iTunes, but instead of changing the genre I now can no longer edit any information about the songs. I tried iTunes support but they're no help.

Okay what I did was select all the songs at once using the Shift key. The I right clicked and chose "Get Info" on the pop-up menu. I was asked if I wanted to collectively change the info for all the songs. I clicked yes. Then in the new pop-up menu that showed up I clicked on the little arrow next to the tray under the term "genre" and chose the catagory of dance. When nothing happened I right clicked on one song. Again I chose "Get Info" from the pop menu bringing up another menu. In this menu I clicked on the "Info" tab. This would be where I change the song's genre. Yet for some reason all options on this tab are "faded" I can't click on any of the options.

Here's a pick

When you say "nothing happened," you mean....what?

Yes, but I mean...none of the categories changed? Nothing came up to show that it was changing?

It's just punishing you for having "dance" music on your computer.

We appreciate your concern.
It is noted and stupid.

Don't diss it until you've downloaded it. At least that song.

Yay coding music.

Because non-audiophiles such as myself can't tell the difference, really.

Exactly. The songs remained in the same category, but now I cannot edit their information.

Oh and now I activated PMing, I didn't realize it before sorry.
