Happy New Year 4701!
Today is the Chinese/Lunar New Year for those in the US time zones (it is officially tomorrow if you were in Asia), and it is the year 4701: Year of the Monkey.

Hang on, China is ahead of the US in terms of time, so shouldn't it be Chinese New Year in China before America?

Basically, it starts with the new moon, and in the US, the new moon day started before China.

New Year's means more pocket money. Woohoo! Although being a pagan-friendly Chinese, I celebrate New Year's three times a year. Fun stuff.
