Anyway, I'm posting one of the poems I'll be reading. Why? Sheer ego gratification, no doubt.
So, uh...here you go. No title.
The downward rush, the crumbling roar
Tumbling as rocks down mountains
The tree is broken, the trail erased
And as the dust whispers escape
The rocks will find their resting place

That's good work!
It's the hardest thing to get your message across and make it rhyme and use the proper wording as well. That is not bad poetry. ... I like it and the people are your college poetry reading thing will like it, too.
Now, HERE is some bad poetry:
Desire
Is my picture painted
On the walls of your desire?
Has your heart been overcome
By love's sweet passionate fires?
Did you dream about me,
In night's seductive sleep?
Did you lay you down to sleep
And pray my soul to keep?
Am I like the fresh air
On a winter's day?
A wellspring of eternal joy
To comfort you this day?
I await you in this land
Of pleasure and sweet pain
I'll be your aphrodesiac
I'll be your demons, Slain
I stand here with a pitcher
Of water hot as coals
To ease your longing heart
And quench your thirsty soul...
------------------
Ring this little golden bell
And see what changes with it's knell
Or Wonder, till it drives you mad...
What would have happened if you HAD.
There is a short story as well as some of my poetry. Its bad, so I'm warning you now.

Thick Meat

I like to be fed
Or this timeless classic:
I feel it lodge itself in my throat
I can't breathe, I'm choking!

Josh: I think they're getting to know each other a bit too well, if you catch my drift.
Me: Oh, I agree. I think they're spending too much time together, that is of course, if you catch my drift.
Asher: I think he's *ucking her, and he's cheating on his wife, and he's risking his marriage, and if his wife finds out about it she'll leave him and take their son, and his life will be ruined. If you catch my drift...

There was an old woman from Surrey,
Who found herself in quite a hurry,
To escape from Daryus,
And his legions nefarious,
Who were made up entirely of curry.
Oh, wow. That's pure, unadultered crap right there, isn't it? *LMAO*

There are people who one loves immediatly and forever. Just to know that you exist in the same world together is sufficient. Till I loved, I never lived - enough.
May you grow warts on your bot bot, and may you itch between your eyes.
And may your head fall off at an awkward moment.

FALL
Silence.
Calm, Peace.
Thunderclap roars, splits the heavens, crash divides the sky.
A small star brightens, grows, streaks burning, smoke billows black across the blue.
A scream -- long, high-pitched, combining in its cry the sounds of pain, rage, despair.
The smell of burning feathers.
Silence.

THE LAST GOODBYE
You said your last goodbye to me that day,
And why you had to leave I did not know,
But you were boud, or so the Fates did say,
To fall among the coldness and the snow.
My deepest self first heard the siren's call
That notified the world that you'd been found,
And none, of all the forces I could draw
Could do but aught against the dreadful wound.
The brightness of the lights that lit your face
Did nothing to congeal the horrid flow
And I was forced to watch, and hold my place,
As your bright orbs did lose their living glow.
You told me that you loved me, and you cried,
I had no words to answer, and you died.

Death of a Friend
Today I buried my memories
And put away my love
I cannot find you here on earth
So now I look above
Or look there deep inside me
Where your emotions used to be
There's only a void now
So much, you meaned to me
I must go on without you
Though pain will never end
Yet life cannot just stop
When you bury your best friend

Here I am burying my friend,
'cause there he was, driving his car at 90mph into a dead end.
