Well, I thought it was time to bring back the musical thread. But I've made some changes. Besides the songs you've written, you can also post ANY SONG from ANYWHERE that can describe the following: --any scene in any episode, movie or BOOK --an entire episode, movie, or book --an entire season --an arc of episodes --character development --any relationship --obscure facts --baldness of the three male captainsAny questions? Here's a song I wrote for the first Musical thread. Note that it was written after the end of DS9 season 6 and before the start of season 7. (singing) Dukat: You will tell me that I'm right, Benjamin! Sisko: Not a chance, Dukat, it's a sin! Weyoun: You are both insane. (to Sisko) Captain, you're a fool to resist the Dominion. Now you must bear the pain! Dukat: (to Sisko) No, you won't survive this! (Sisko attempts to shoot Dukat with a phaser) Sisko: How could I ever miss?! Kira: (spoken) Kira to Sisko. We need you in the Promenade. (singing resumes) Sisko: Don't you see I can't retreat? Kira: But there's a problem in the holosuite! (scene changes to holosuite) Vic Fontaine: It's not unusual to be loved by anyone... Quark: If only he could be fixed by just anyone! (scene changes back to Sisko, Dukat, and Weyoun) Weyoun: Now you will see the power...(spoken)of the Dominion. Dukat: Wait, this is not the hour. Weyoun: You will not challenge me again, fool! Dukat: Now I'm not obliged to follow your rules! *Worf enters* Worf: (to Dukat)There you are, murderer! Watch what I will do to you! Dukat: I did not mean harm to her, But I'll decide when my time's due! (Prophets visit Sisko.) Weyoun: The Sisko is of Bajor. Sisko: But how do we win such a war? Dukat: You must open up the Temple. Sisko: That isn't very simple! (half yelling) Help me! (singing again) If not, help Bajor! Please stop the mourning! Worf: Why did you not heed our warning? Sisko: What am I to do? Weyoun: Find the right path to pursue. ------------------ "I told you. You're dead. This is the afterlife. And I'm God." --Q to Picard, "Tapestry".

Star Trek Musical??? Looks like this isn't an original idea, but was a feature in the one and only MAD Magazine in Oct. 1976. I know its not original, but maybe it'll help boost some people's imaginations...*ahem* The first song featured, in this glorious spoof, is "Where is My Crew" to the tune of "Send in the Clowns". Spock: Isn't it strange? After eight years- Him playing Captain again- Me with my ears! Send in the Crew! Kirk: Look at me now- At my old post- Happy that I can forget "Barbary Coast!" Where is my crew? Send in My Crew! Scotty: See our old ship- Down from the sky! None of the engines are working, and neither am I! McCoy: Once I was saving their lives with My medical skill! Where am I now? Over the hill! Chapel and Uhura: How have we done? Not well, we fear- Typecast as spacemen, Which means... We have no career! So send in the crew! This old, washed up crew! We're better off here! Then there's McCoy, with "My kind Of Sickness" to the tune of "Sound of Silence" McCoy: I'm a doctor out in space... And, like, I really groove this place. Because of all the rare diseases. Not like your silly coughs or sneezes. Treating ailments that no man before has seen... Its really keen They are my kinds...of sickness Observe that crewman rub his leg. Last week he got the Neptune Plague... Today his joints are blue and yellow, In seven days he'll turn to Jello, And that last remaining blob I'll analyze, When he dies... This is my kind...of sickness. While beaming up to Gamma II, I thought this man had caught the flu, But then his mouth was growing fangs there, And now from ceiling he just hangs there, As I sit and listen, to his last requests, I'll run tests... This is my kind...of sickness. Oh what a joy it is to see each brand-new unknown malady, These men are pleading,"Won't you cure us "From what we picked up from Arcturus?" And with ev'ry dying gurgle in their throats, I'll make notes... These are my kinds...of sickness! That's it for now, I had to type em all out...if anyone else wants more, just post and say so!

(From HMS Yakko) Kirk: I am the evil pirate Captain Kirk. Scotty, Bones, Spock: And a very evil pirate, too. Kirk: Ye are very, very kind, I'm an evil mastermind. And I'll do creul things to you. Group: We are very, very kind, he's an evil mastermind. And he'll do creul things to you (points to each other. Kirk: Like hit you in the knee, poke your eyes so you can't see, and stun you with my phaser. Though I be a pirate swine, I'll have to draw the line..... So I will not throw you overboard. Group: What never? Kirk: No never! Group: What never? Kirk: Hardly ever!!!!! (Opens the ship hatch, Scotty, Bones, and Spock get sucked into deep space.)
------------------ Is it getting better? Or do you feel the same? Will it make it easier on you now, You've got someone to blame.

While I work on converting my own masterpiece, here's something to tide you over. This song makes me think of...well, you'll see.Finished With Lies, by Elim Garak. Starting now, I'm telling the truth I'm finished with lies... You'll never believe me now, you'll never believe me...now I should have my head examined They'll see when they look inside I won't need to speak I'll stop thinking what I shouldn't be thinking I'll make everyone believe me, starting now I'm telling the truth, I'm finished with lies... You'll never believe me now, you'll never believe me...now You'll think it's a lie Couldn't we just put away The ancient history Throw up our hands at the unsolved mystery I'm going to have my head examined I'll prove you were wrong about me Move the needle with my mind I'll turn everything around and confuse you I'll fix it so you can't remember what was true Everybody's going to love me, starting now I'm telling the truth, I'm finished with lies... You'll never believe me now, you'll never believe me...now You'll think it's a lie...you'll think it's a lie...you'll think it's a lie ------------------ "I am just a worthless liar. Well, at least it's my persona that gets associated with TMBG. ------------------ Elim Garak: "Oh, it's just Garak. Plain, simple Garak. Now, good day to you, Doctor. I'm so glad to have made such an... interesting new friend today." (DS9: "Past Prologue")

The following describes the state of Dukat after Ziyal's death, especially in the episode "Waltz". (Originally named "Coalhouse's Soliloquy" from the Ragtime musical.)Dukat's Soliloquy Say goodbye to music. Say goodbye to light. Anything I care for, Take it from my sight. Let me see no future, Let me hear no sound. Only darkness and pain, The anger and pain, The blood and the pain. They buried my heart in the ground... In the ground... When they buried you in the ground. I see your face... And we will ride On the wheels of a new dream, Ziyal, A new time, Ziyal, Now, I'll play them the music Of something beginning, An era EXPLODING, A century spinning-- MY law and MY justice In rhythm and rhyme! Listen to that Ragtime! ------------------ "I told you. You're dead. This is the afterlife. And I'm God." --Q to Picard, "Tapestry".

Another one from Ragtime... Make Them Hear You, by Michael Eddington. Go out and tell our story. Let it echo far and wide. Make them hear you, Make them hear you. How justice was our battle And how justice was denied. Make them hear you, Make them hear you. And say to those who blame us For the way we chose to fight That sometimes there are battles That are more than black or white... And I could not put down my sword When justice was my right. Make them hear you. Go out and tell our story To your daughters and your sons. Make them hear you, Make them hear you. And tell them, in our struggle, We were not the only ones. Make them hear you, Make them hear you. Your sword can be a sermon Or the power of the pen. Teach every child to raise his voice And then, my brothers, then Will justice be demanded By ten million righteous men. Make them hear you. When they hear you, I'll be near you Again. If anyone wants to hear these songs, I'd be more than happy to provide the mp3s. ------------------ "I told you. You're dead. This is the afterlife. And I'm God." --Q to Picard, "Tapestry".

*grin*...."It's life, Jim, but not as we know it......" Should I go out and find the Dr. Suess Star Trek one? ------------------ From Me all things proceed and unto Me they must return. Let My worship be in the heart that rejoices, for behold all acts of love and pleasure are my rituals. Let there be beauty and strength, power and compassion, honor and humility, mirth and reverence within you. ... Know the Mystery: for if that which you seek, you find not within yourself, you will never find it without. For behold, I have been with you from the beginning, and I am that which is attained at the end of desire.
