Try this out!! I'll tell you our results at the end.......

Jedi Mind Trick

This little Jedi mind trick is kinda freaky, till you think about it a little while. Then it's even more weird. Just follow the instructions below:

You fools! It's an old Jedi Mind trick!

I chose 9 and potato respectively.

So I guess i am resistant to suggestion.

I WAS thinking of a carrot, and I still have tears in my eyes as I write this. But I picked 6 in the first round.

Oh by the way, does anyone of you have weird colour associations? Back at school, German was Green, English was red, geography was green again, Spanish was yellow, Maths was red -I believe, it's been a while- Dutch was,,erm, red I think. But French was more like yellow. And Biology was reddish. Am I just weird?

Posted by Jubilee (Member # 99) on :

I guess i'm wierd, too. I had 3, and zucchini.

The 7 thing worked when I saw the first part of this post elsewhere a long time ago, but the vegetable I thought of was an eggplant. I understand why 7 is a common choice, but why a carrot?

Ahh! I've seen this before, knew what was coming, and STILL, seven was the first number that popped into my head! Go figure.

My answers?

Number: 9

Vegetable: (Orange! No, wait!) Tomato!

Apparently Monty and I think the same way numerically. I suppose I'm the only one to pick a fruit for a vegetable. On my second try a fraction of a second later, I managed to pick a vegetable that's technically a berry.

Go fig. Of course the rest of you probably already have me pegged as thinking so non-linearly, it would graph as a corkscrew.

I got 7. . . but then you're meant to. Between 12 and 5? Come on. Simple subtraction. As for vegetables, I thought courgette, which is what we call a zucchini. Hmm. . .

Posted by Elim Garak (Member # 14) on :

I got 11 and lettuce respectively.

Why a carrot? I have no clue, but I was introduced to a similar test before and everyone but me said carrot. I originally said lettuce, too. Why lettuce? Don't ask me!

Anyone care to tell Jubes that 3 is not in between 12 and 5, or shall I?

Carrots are the vegetables that most children hate the least.

As for my results, I did it outloud, like it says. For a number I got 5. For a vegetable...well, it said the first thing that came to mind.

I said people.

I then got zucchini!

Interesting... I also said six...

Of course, on the vegetable one, my thoughts were actually "Apple! No, wait, that's not a ****ing vegetable! Pota Wait, is that considered a vegetable? Ah, screw it... Carrot." Seriously.

AAAAARGGHHH!

I don't believe I fell for this one.
My little sisters tried this one out on me on the way home from picking me up in college two Fridays ago -- I was after spending hours in a stuffy car, just recovering from a hangover and I had got eff-all sleep the night before, and I still didn't fall for it!

Damn you Lee - I'm going to do some study now I'm so annoyed.

"Fire, Fire!" said Mrs O'Dwyer.
"Where, where?" said Mrs O'Hare.
"Down in the town." said Mrs Brown.

said old Mrs Davis.

In a similar vein
(well actually it's not really anything like like Lee's but I get sent all sorts of cr*p e-mail so here you go)

1. First of all, pick the total number of people you have slept with. (Naturally this assumes that you can remember!)

2. Multiply this number by 2...

3. Add 5...

4. Multiply it by 50...

5. If you have already had your birthday this year...add 1749, if you haven't had your birthday this year...add 1748.

6.now subtract the four digit year that you were born..

If you have slept with less than 10 people see a)
If you have slept with more than 10 people see b)

a) you should have a three digit number...
the first digit...should be the number of your encounters....

the second two digits should be your age!!!

b) you should have a four digit number...
the first two digits...should be the number of your encounters....

the second two digits should be your age!!!

1999....is the only year that this will work...so pass the fun around and foward this to all your friends while the year is still here!!!

Clever eh? No I didn't think so either!

Posted by The First One (Member # 35) on :

You have got to be kidding me. . . works for everyone here at work. I'm also willing to bet that there isn't one person here who goes to (b), apart from me anyway. . . 8)

Try this one. I learned in in fifth grade, but you'd be surprised how many older people it fools into believing you can read their minds.

It's best if you write it down each time you do a step, then come back to the next step.

1.) Pick a country that starts with D.

2.) Pick an animal that starts with the second letter in that country's name.

3.) What color is that animal?

4.) Pick another animal that starts with the LAST letter in the country's name.

5.) Pick a fruit that starts with the last letter in that animal's name.

-----

90% of people will get:

1.) Denmark
2.) Elephant
3.) Gray
4.) Kangaroo
5.) Orange

Denmark? You mean, it's not normal to think of Deutschland? Okay, that was the first one to come to mind, then, the first English one being the Dominican Republic.

1. Dominican Republic
2. Orca
3. Black 'n' white
4. Cow
5. Err... Is this possible?
