For years, I've remembered this movie with admiration. Maybe it's the beginning of the movie where people lived in their cars, or the whole telethon thing, or the rest of the world being controlled by the United Arab Emirites. But noone believed me when I explained this movie to them. They thought I was making the whole thing up. (Granted these were the same people who thought I made up The Princess Bride and Mystic Pizza, but still....).

Yes, people, Americathon has returned! At least a not-so-fond review of it. Does anyone else here remember this movie?

cars turned into housing? Al Gore's utopia!

Yeah, saw this many years ago. Lots of funny little observations, such as: to sabotage the telethon, someone books as entertainment nothing but ventriloquists.
