In my opinion, I dont' think that I would like to be really famous. I don't think I would like to have the press follow my every move, and to not be able to have any privacy. Imagine not being able to just go out for a walk without worrying about someone bugging you for you autograph.

Perhaps you should stop by superspecialquestions.com, a message board run by M Doughty of Slanky, Skittish, and Soul Coughing fame. It's all about fame. (Faaaaame. What's your name, what's your name?)

It's all in how you handle it. People that act like they hate their fame seem to be more in the spotlight. Those who don't seem to care are usually left alone.

Sol wants to be famous...but not in that give up your artistic side to the soul-less coporations I have to wear logo laden shirts and shoes kind of way.

He wants it to be in a lazy sort of run down kinda way. You know, where 17 people listen as he reads his poems....4 actually like them and snap their fingers....5 get physically ill and make a dash for the restrooms....and 1 cute girl comes up to talk to him when he's done.

It all starts there for our Sol System. The non-famous fame. The fame where he doesn't have to do anything other than let the world simply recognize his extraordinary intellectual and creative powers.

Dang it! If only I'd used that approach. *L*

Don't bother. Its success rate so far stinks.

(Actually, I did chat up a rather engagingly pretty girl at the last poetry reading I was at, but I wasn't reading, I was handing out copies of our book. Plus, I had the power to offer cake and sugered punch, which helps. I did spend a great deal of time with another strikingly attractive girl, but I don't think it counts as I knew her from grade school. We just ran into each other at the event. Which reminds me, I should plug the online version of it sometime...)

I don't want to be famous, I just want to be all-powerful.
