I don't know about other places, but here, in America, many banks charge a fee now whenever you withdrawl money. In other words, you have to pay for the priviledge of getting your own money!!!! Does anyone else think that this is not only ludicris, but a major ripoff?

Hey D, which bank do you use? I use BofA and as long I maintain at least a certain amont in my account, I'm not charged any fees for any withdrawals. ------------------ 7 alarm clock: "Do not touch me." Dilbert: "Then how do I turn you off?" 7: "Believe me, I am plenty turned off."

Yeah, that's just been introduced over here. Fortunatly (for me), I can use Lloyds, TSB, Barclays, Bank of Scotland and Royal Bank of Scotland cash machines without gettting charged. Which pretty much covers everywhere.EXCEPT when it's 10:30 in London and you're desperate to get money out before going into a club, that is. ------------------ "A fully functioning, cybernetic, technologically advanced team of superheroes... and NOBODY'S got a flashlight?" - Polly Ester; Samurai Pizza Cats

Most banks up here don't charge any fees provided that you have a balance of over $1000, Canadian. However, the bank account that I have doesn't charge fees for ANYTHING. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Zero. They would only charge if I were to get a bank loan or request a mortgage, not that I will be doing so in the near future...... ------------------ "My Name is Elmer Fudd, Millionaire. Sorry, I misread it.You get charged for withdrawing money if you have less that a certain amount in your bank? That's bad. Especially is the limit is around $1000. Asking most of my friends how much they had in their accounts, adn the answers ranged from 500 to 1000. In the red. Half of them were over their overdraft limits too. Ah, to be a student in the UK is a tough thing indeed. Over here, we get chared "disloyalty fees" if we withdraw money using a cash machine other than our own bank (or one they have a deal with). Not all banks do it, and their are arguments about it being illegal or something, so it might change. ------------------ "A fully functioning, cybernetic, technologically advanced team of superheroes... and NOBODY'S got a flashlight?" - Polly Ester; Samurai Pizza Cats

I have an account at Navy Federal Credit Union. If you use their ATM you're not fined, but if you go to any other non-Navy Federal ATM you're charged a fee which usually varies but mostly $1.50. Now if what you mean is if I'm an NFCU member, use their ATM and still charged a fee.. well I'd be pissed too.------------------ Sisko: "We run alright, run right at them."
