Monday, shortly after the funeral. I won't be gone for very long. Might even come back the same day. But for someone whose personal travel experience is as limited as mine, every journey is a grand one.<P>Right now, I'm faced with the most important of all roadtrip questions. What music do I bring with me? My, uh, unusual tastes deny the radio as an option. Unfortunately for me, there won't be enough time for me to check this thread before I leave, but hopefully it will stand as a beacon in the night for fellow travelers.<P>And so: What is the greatest traveling song/album/saga/cycle? Don't say Beowulf. Well, unless you mean it.<P>My nominations: "Idaho" by John Linnell. "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash. "Escape is at Hand for the Traveling Band" by The Tragically Hip. (Which may or may not be the actual title, but I am too tired to fact-check.)<P>Of course, I am tempted to nominate the album that lent its title to this thread, by the Magnetic Fields.
