I was just wondering if anyone had any info on the STARCRAFT sequel. Lord knows I love the original and the expansion, but for some reason the homepage for LEGACY won't load on my computer tonight. Anyway, just fishing for info here ...

Er...this is the first I've heard about it, and I like to think I'm pretty "connected" as far as such news goes. As far as I knew, Blizzard is making WarCraft III right now and only WarCraft III. Well, along with the Diablo II expansion. There's nothing about such a game on their official site.

Knowing Blizzard, I rather doubt anyone will be thinking about a StarCraft sequel until after the aforementioned WarCraft game is out.

On the other hand, if you've got some hot rumors, then dish, boy, dish!

Hmmmm. Now that the web page is loaded, I don't know if it is a sequel. When I did a search on Yahoo for Starcraft sites, they had one topic for "Starcraft 2", which is why I posted this in the first place. Dammit ...

With all those Legacy titles on the right, I don't think it's about StarCraft 2.

As for a 'new' StarCraft, download the latest patch (version 1.08) for a nifty new feature. Note that it is yet to be published on the Blizzard site, but it is said that you can already get it using the auto-update of the Battle.net log-on.

Hey, CC, do you have Tiberian Sun? If so, want to go head to head sometime?

Warcraft 2 was great.
Dune 2 was good too.
Red Alert was awesome.
Tiberian Sun was OK, but did not live up to its hype.

I just got Red Alert 2 for Christmas, and after reading the reviews, I can't wait to install it.

"Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn" was released between Dune 2 and "Command & Conquer: Red Alert" and, believe it or not, spawned red alert. Everyone I've talked to in the last four years, in this topic, have been totally oblivious to the fact.

And I am fully aware that you can't expect a FULLY realistic scaling system with buildings and such in these games, but put a 250m battleship next to a 1.5m german shephard in "Red Alert" and you'll hit a bit of a snag...

It's C&C (TD), RA, TS, RA2, TT (Tiberian Twilight, or so the next game is supposed to be called), RA3 (assuming..)

RA and RA2 take place in a seperate timeline.

We also have the next Dune game coming up, not based on the TS engine, thank goodness...

I'd really like to see Westwood upgrade their C&C engine to that of a 3d engine like Warcraft 3. Then the game would totally rock.

Funny, that's just what they've done.

Yes, it's a 3D strategy-game now, where you can rotate the camera-view and zoom in/out.
There are some gorgeous screens on da homepage. www.dune3.com. Fairly logical name, heh (Although not if you count D2k, hmph).
It's called "Dune Emperor - Battle For Dune".
