As I've rambled on about before, ICQ has quit working. Perhaps I was unkind to it. Perhaps it cannot last after two years and self-destructed. Regardless, it has ceased to be. It has become an ex-program.

So, much against my better judgement I am downloading the latest version. Uh...2001b, or 2999q, or whatever. I just thought I would let everyone know because, if my prior experience with switching versions is an accurate guide I will have to abandon my old list and name and everything else. Which almost ruins the point of trying to get the thing again, since I'm interested in talking to my old friends; that is, you people, and not make new ones, for example, MIsSy*00043 who wants to have the hot SEXXOR!!1.

On a semi-related note, I managed to clear up some free hard drive space today. (It's now at an all-time high of 350 or so MB, up from 350 or so KB earlier today.) That's why I'm daring to attempt the download in the first place. If this works, next on my list will be a modern version of Netscape, hopefully one with a working newsreader. We shall see.

It works!

Unfortunately, now I'm stuck with the "improved" interface.

No need, I think.

Isn't that the girl from Pokemon? I'm sure she's underage. (And if she's not, I'm sure Brock's shafted her many times anyway.)

I know it's Misty. I was misreading for the purposes of an HUMEROUS PUN!

Tsk, why don't she and Brock get surnames anyway? Mr Tracy "I draw Pokemon and I'm a crappity crap-head" Sketchit does, and Brock pisses on him from a great height.

And what about Team Rocket eh? We've got James Morgan, but what's Jessie's name?

And Ash's mum! What the hell is her first name? Surely Oak doesn't just whisper "ooh, I like that, Mrs Ketchum" in her ear while making the sweat, sweat love?

Obviously, something must be done about this. Like stopping me watching TV.

Granted, my exposure to the evil that is Pokémon is limited, but I thought the members of "Team Rocket" were siblings?

Aside from that funky cat they've got...

Meowth. Definitely places, in terms of talking cats. I couldn't have a Salem Saberhagen, I'd have a Meowth.

Meowth is the bomb.

As for the other characters, i'd get rid of Ash and Misty and pair up Tracy and Brock. *evil grin*

Not possible you say?

HA!
