I'm leaving this without comment:
http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1157939856
(note the expected bid)

Hey, I've been looking for one of those for a while now, second hand ones aren't usually in such good shape.....

Posted by MIB (Member # 426) on :

Sure! I'll spare a few bucks so you can make a bid!

Posted by Vogon Poet (Member # 393) on :

EPS Conduits not included.

Posted by Mr. Christopher (Member # 71) on :

Eh, if there's no warranty I don't want it.

Posted by Daniel (Member # 453) on :

Hn. I'll have to pass. Not compatible with a Constitution-refit.

Posted by Jeff Kardde (Member # 411) on :

For THAT price, shipping had BETTER be included.

That's funny and sad at the same time, I'm having trouble deciding which.

A minimum bid of 3,000,000! ::Faint:: ::Thud:: OUCH!

WOW! 3,000,000 - yes please I want loooads of money!

Cool console too - say, if ya plug it into some electricity, will it work?

Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :

It looks like it's lit up, so I assume it has working LEDs.

Unless you meant will it work, in which case I doubt it. :-)

How about a Transporter Control Console MicroMachine?
The kids would rape and maim eachother to get it!

Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :

Maiming might work, in a mob rush situation, but I fail to see what purpose rape would serve, except for shits and grins...

Posted by Nimrod (Member # 205) on :

"Demoralizing The Enemy", chapter II, verse I. It's in the lost second volume of Sun Tzu's Art Of War.

"For demoralization, nothing will outmatch a good assrape."

I'd buy it for significantly less.

But what really bothers me is the "Supersize Picture" buttons. Supersize? The hell?

Posted by Vogon Poet (Member # 393) on :

I'll leave it to Liam to provide the perfect juxtaposition of Simon 'Sol System' Sizer, wielder of the mighty appendage, puzzling over the use of a supersizer. . . 8)

Posted by PsyLiam (Member # 73) on :

Oh cheers. Once again I have to do all the work. I'm the one who has to tell Timmy up there that it's "shits and giggles", and I'm the one who has to think up a joke about Simon "Supersized" Sizers Supersized Sizing Situation.

Oi.

Well, this probably deserves a thread of it's own, but it's related, so. . .

http://www.thesun.co.uk/news/13796619

I kid you not. 8)

The guy who is selling the console is apparently named Tony too, and look, it's the very same transporter console in the very same room!

So if he spent 8,000 for it, he's going to make a profit of 37,500% (minus shipping).

Posted by Vogon Poet (Member # 393) on :

Thought it was, but you know, all starships look the same inside. . . what am I saying?!

Posted by PsyLiam (Member # 73) on :

At least the Sun spelt Picard's name right this time. What was that article frmo a few months ago? "Star Trek went of the air in 1997 and there are no plans to make any more episodes"?

Brilliantly, they didn't even get past the first line of body text before they used a cliche!

Aren't you yanks jealous of our high quality tabloids?

I went to the link in Bernd's first page, but it said invalid item. So what was it exactly?

Posted by Bernd (Member # 6) on :

Try this:
http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?MfcISAPICommand=GetResult&SortProperty=MetaEndSort&ht=1&query=transporter+console
or type "transporter console" in their search engine

Posted by Dukhat (Member # 341) on :

I think I came into this discussion too late, because I'm not seeing anything except "invalid item." Pray tell, what was this?

Posted by Daniel (Member # 453) on :

A replica of a TNG-style transporter control console. Rather well done, actually, complete with backlit Okuda-style panel.

So, wait, does this mean someone actually bought the thing for 3 million?

Making your house look like a Trek ship is kinda neat. I wouldn't mind living in a house like that.

Putting in a cardboard cutout of Picard, walking around in a SF uniform, and making your wife leave you... that's a bit much...

Posted by Nimrod (Member # 205) on :

Well, as long as her snotty son comes around now and then and saves the whole house because he's so smart.

And gets to program the timer on the VCR.

Here it is: http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1151616631

You can also search for Transporter console and check the box "search completed items."
