In 1945, the Japanese developed a submarine capable of launching three single-engine fighters. They were unable to utilize this weapon because they weren't able to construct an engine powerful enough to launch the fighter from the hanger atop the submarine. The Germans constructed a powerful enough engine, but it was destroyed the day it arrived in Japan by American bombers. I'm looking for information on this submarine and it's history. I saw a special on it on the History Channel, but my searches have been to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.
