quote:According to Cinescape Magazine, 'Futurama', the sci-fi parody cartoon from the creators of The Simpsons will do a 'Star Trek episode' in its upcoming fourth season, which premieres December 2001.
"A good number of the original Star Trek cast will be involved" says executive producer David Cohen.
"The story revolves around the cult of Star Trek that grew into its own religion around the 23rd Century and became too powerful in the coming centuries" says Cohen "The world leaders - Jimmy Carter's head and the Space Pope - grew fearful of its power and banned all Star Trek viewing. All tapes were destroyed and launched to a forbidden planet. Now, the entire original cast has disappeared except for Leonard Nimoy, whose head remains in the dead museum, so Fry is determined to bring back this great thing he loves and sets off on an adventure to do that."

This is why I will forever love Futurama.

*sniff* I love futurama. Unfortunatly, the hicks running the local fox station here have decided that Sunday night football is more important than one of the best cartoon series ever.

They've replaced Dexter's Lab with American Football?

ahhhh no. I was talking about Futurama. hehe

Oh, a Trek parody... I hope that I don't hear Shatner or Nimoy sing like in that Animaniacs parody.

I dunno, I liked Shatner's big number with Picard on tambourine in that episode of The Critic.

OMG! I remember that episode! LMAO. The entire crew were square dancing and Worf was doing some kind of knee slaping routine! hehe

Fururama is awesome, but its no family guy

But I found Family Guy's Shatner episode to be a tiresome rehash of bad Shatner impressions.
But their clip from TOS was good.
'I'll be beaming down with Commander Spock, Dr. McCoy and Ensign Redshirt' 'Oh, crap!'

I don't know... I kinda like that Simpsons episode with the family watching Star Trek VII: Too, Too Old on television...

it was Star Trek XII: So Very Tired
the Scotty bit was a little cruel, but the 'again with the Klingons'.. classic
and i think thatm might have actually been George Takei, because he does voices on the Simpsons occasionally

I thought that was the point...?

Oh, I thought that was something like that. And don't forget Nimoy did voiceovers at the Simpsons also.

Family Guy managed to surprise, delight and amuse me in infinite aspects, except for its shatner bit. Maybe its only because I am a Shatnerologist.
