Hurray for the Diamondbacks!

A very good world series all in all. I know a lot of the country was all for the Yankees because of 9-11 and I have to credit them for their heart. That being said, I'm still glad the bastards lost (let someone else win for a change). Yay Curt Schilling!

i guess i've been a d-back fan all my life.

Baltimore has had a grudge against the Yankees since that punk kid stole the '97 Series from the Orioles.

There was great rejoicing when the Yankees lost.

Well, the DBacks did it in nice fashion (coming from behind), but can anyone forget the "home run heard round the world" in 1993?

I don't remember it. I don't even know what you're talking about. *didn't really feel like reading all that stuff when he clicked the link*

Just for you, TSN

Trailing 5-1 in Game 6, the Phillies broke through with five runs in the seventh, the outburst highlighted by Dykstra's three-run homer, his fourth round-tripper of the Series. That 6-5 lead would not be enough. With one out in the bottom of the ninth, the Blue Jays got two men on base, bringing Joe Carter up to face Mitch Williams. Carter blasted a 2-2 pitch over the left-field fence, and the Blue Jays were World Series Champions for the second year in a row. Carter's homer marked only the second time in 531 Series games that a contest was ended by a come-from-behind homer.

Damn Jays have never been the same since.

Hm... I didn't even know Philidelphia had been in the World Series. At all, much less recently. Though I do remember that Toronto was in it when I was in sixth grade. Which would have been... 1992.

Is this baseball??

Or, as the British call it, "the other game with balls and a bat that the Americans love to play and call themselves 'world champions' when they're the only ones who play it..."

Although as a Brit, and knowing next to nothing about the game, I'd still say that it's about a million times better than American Football.

Well Baseball is one of those sports that can either be extremely exciting, OR

more boring than watching paint dry.
Just depends on the situation. I don't think i've ever watched an entire game straight through, though i came close in '93

Bad stuff happens in 3's.

To New York, anyway.
