As of tomorrow, my tenure at the Uniontown Public Library comes to an end.
As I am not likely to have much free time at my new job, and because I have not yet enough $ to pay for my own home computer and internet access, I will be taking an extended leave of absence from the 'net for at least a month.
To the rest of you, this means very little besides the knowledge that you can all now avoid going to the flameboard, as any hope of intelligent discussion will cease while I'm gone.
If I come back to find the place crashed and in a new incarnation (Enterforum - L?)... I won't be surprised.

I don't get how the Gods are smiling on Omega.

I'll be sure to hold the fort on everything while you're gone.
Except Liberalism, Conservatism, and Gun Control.
No net access and no home computer? I say it is time to renegotiate your contract.

Aw...
Come, now, Rob, how could you think I'd be HAPPY that you're leaving? You're one of the more mature people around here.
Good luck with your new job, and come rejoin us soon!

Yes, for the sake of keeping up the .... Well, don't take the lengthy type breaks I do.... Good luck, may you and yours have lots of "O's".....
mmm, also, what are you going to be doing???

Omega.. you won't miss the religion and creation/evolution wars. I was better on those than everybody else, too.
Don't pay that 'better than everybody' stuff too much mind.. nobody else is stroking my ego, so I have to do it myself.
My new job? Remember the A/V kid from high school? That'll be me. Except that it'll be in a college, and I'll be getting paid 29K to do it.

How much is internet access in the US then? I thought you'd have free off-peak calls and stuff like that.

Colleges are full of computers...

Dial-up accounts are almost universally $20/month over here.

I know colleges are full of computers. BUT... I also know that people who are paying you to work generally frown on you playing on the computer, even if it IS a slow part of the day.

(Yes, I did. Really. People are looking at me funnily, but I don't care. Rob deserves it.)

Fo2, you'll be missed here and on the TrekRPG.net Forums. Hope you can get enough money to recover net access soon (preferrably broadband )
