In case you didn't know, today is the 9th anniversary of the first (really the only) World Trade Center bombing. A bomb exploded in the parking garage of the WTC at 12:15 on Friday, February 26, 1993. 6 people were killed and huindreds injured.

Completely unrelated, I know, but I just finished reading Alex Garland's The Beach. The climactic events of that novel happened to take place on the September 11th (years unspecificed but vaguelt mid-90's). I just thought it was weird that he'd pick at random that of all days, now forever associated with a real-life tragedy.

Still, much better than winning the lottery, which is - depending on the type of lottery - one in several millions!

Don't mention lottery to me! According to the "odds" we should have won at least once - but some people have won twice or more!
