What kind of mythical creature are you?
Take the test.

I get the feeling that, due to 1st of Two's aspirations of world domination, he would probably be a dragon. That is just a guess though. [Smile]

Hoo-boy. A gryphon.

An incubus. Interesting. And they didn't even ask any questions regarding horniness...

And Incubus only sucked on the first and most recent albums. The two in between were good.

Oh and naiads and nereids are nymphs. After some playing around, I found the gender and number-of-legs questions don't seem to do anything. You can be a man and still end up as one of the Furies. Or you can ask for two legs and end up a centaur.

Apparently, it's a very simple JavaScript function that handles everything. Basically, there's a separate integer variable for each creature. For every option you choose, it adds a point to each creature that it applies to. So, if you pick "male", it increments all the male creatures by one. In the end, whichever creature has the most points is what you end up as. Of course, the way it's set up, if there's a tie, you simply end up as whichever comes first on the list.

What the fuck is an Erinyes?

Posted by Dat (Member # 302) on :

Well, I'm not sure I totally want to be erinyes. But given what I've just learned about them, I'm okay with it.

Vogon, from dictionary.com:
Erinys \E*rin"ys\, n.; pl. Erinyes. [L., fr. Gr. ?.] (Class. Myth.) An avenging deity; one of the Furies; sometimes, conscience personified. [Written also Erinnys.]

erinyes

n : (classical mythology) the hideous snake-haired monsters (usually three in number) who pursued unpunished criminals

Gorgon. Joy.

I guess I'm a Erinyes then... so what now? Should I rip someone's nuts out that I hate or have them gangbanged with baseball bats?

Ouch. The latter sounds a wee bit painful.

I'm a phoenix. Or, actually, I'm not really. Just for pretend. But watching 'telly' and not being bothered by lizards are the prerequisites for being a reborn firey bird thing.

I'll be in trouble when the phase out the F-14, I suppose. My AOL IM is 54.

Ha! [email protected]!

Was that suppose to be a joke?

Naiad: Creature that ravaged Japan as revenge for human ecological mistakes. Superman attenpted to stop Naiad using the Spear of Destiny, without realizing that the conciousness of Adolf Hitler lived on in the spear. The Spectre confronted him, and removed Hitler's power from him

Nereid-class: Type of Federation-starship I designed last year, a mirandized Sovereign.

Incubus: Sometimes shitty band.

Gorgan: Energy creature that resided on planet Triacus. Killed the Starnes expedition through controlling the minds of their children.

Centaur, U.S.S.: Federation starship that was involved in the Dominion War. Commanded by Charlie Reynolds.

Gryphon, U.S.S.: Akira-class Federation starship that responded to the evacuation of the Europa Nova colony during the Gateways crisis.

Erinyes: Starship used by the species known as the Furies, in their second attack on Federation space 100 years after their virst contact with Captain Kirk, in the 'Soldiers of Fear' incident.

Phoenix: Warp powered prototype built by Zefram Cochrane of Alpha Centauri. The Phoenix was so named because it was an old missile emplacement, refit to Dr. Cochrane's specifications. ALSO: a Federation starship, Nebula-class commanded by Ben Maxwell. ALSO: a Romulan bird of prey, commanded by T'Cel.

Nymph: Star of many websites.

Chimera-class: Type of Federation starship.

Of course, my knowledge seems a bit genre-limited here...

I would point out that the green guy in "And the Children Shall Lead" was called "Gorgan", whilst Medusa and her sisters were "Gorgons".

Posted by Nim Pim (Member # 205) on :

What the hell is a "Fury", how many varieties are there (since they say 'one of the furies') and what mythology is it? Greek? That Eri-thing sounded cool.

Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :

The Furies were mythological woman-creatures (I don't really know what to call them, but, AFAIK, they were supposed to just look like women) who punished naughty people. And, yes, they were Greek.

So the swelling ceased? And the..*ahem*..and the growths?

Posted by First of Two (Member # 16) on :

A Chimera is a bigger kitbash than a Gryphon, even.

Chimera: A horrible, frightening manifestation. An often fantastic combination of incongrous parts. A product of unrestrained imagination.

I am a succubus... funny it's not the first time in my life i've been called this.

Hey! I recognize that painting in the background of the "Succubus" plaque. Went to the artist's homepage about six months ago. Real nice female deities and fairies.

Posted by Tora Ziyal (Member # 53) on :

I'm a dragon, which is strange because I picked water for some of the answers.

Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :

I thought succubi were supposed to be bit scarier-looking than that...

Posted by Nim Pim (Member # 205) on :

As I said, the painting is not done with the identity-test in mind, it's older than that.
It's the one depicting "Autumn", I think, with the mistress of autumn walking the earth. There were no succubi depicted in the works I saw.

Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :

I know, I wasn't complaining about the picture itself. I was complaining about the person's poor choice of a picture.

Posted by Nim Pim (Member # 205) on :

No, I read you ten four, partner. I agree, it's not succubus material at all, should've been like the one in South Park.
