...But I had a horrific dream last night, one that had me most disturbed for most of the day. First of all I dreamt that old Bill was beaten up quite badly in an elavator by two asian guys, one looked like Sulu.
The next thing I know he's burning alive, nailed to a tree in my back garden. Don't know how he got there but he burned until his skeleton disintegrated and came falling to the ground in pieces.
God what's wrong with me? I get very weird vivid dreams a lot of the time, but this one was nuts.

This is a powerful spiritual experience you have had. With your permission, I'd like to retell it in the scriptures of my upcoming Shatnerology page. Its important that we all share our thoughts, dreams and visions of what Shatner has taught us, to better understand his teachings.

Was it Shatner 'now' or Trek era Shatner - or even T.J. Hooker Shatner!?!
That does indeed sound like a bizarre dream. Anyone had 'trek' dreams - they are sometimes REALLY fantastic (for me at least) You can't beat the effects in your dreams... Once was when DS9 was on and I was in a ship... and we flew really close from Deep Space Nine and through this group of ships - flying REALLY REALLY close to a Klingon Vorcha Battlecruiser - it loomed over us.
Another had Myself?? Picard and Guinan in a ship/shuttlecraft!?!
Another was me?? walking through the Turbolift (the one that's supposed to go to the battle bridge) onto the bridge behind Captain Picard and Dr. Crusher and she was discussing some situation that was at hand - that's all I can really remember of those dreams - fragments.
Anyone else?

Dreams about Star Trek? God I'm surrounded by nerds...
Posted by Sol System (Member # 30) on :
No Star Trek connection, but last night I dreamed that I was in Los Angeles and it was controlled by the Nazis, who were eager to pry some information I had (but wasn't aware of) out of my head. But some of them just wanted me dead.
Anyway, I managed to escape when the chair that hurled me towards an explosion somehow failed to get all the way there. I rolled down the hall, smashed a window, and escaped into the yard. Then I had to climb a fence and run up a very steep embankment to the freeway. I waved and waved, but no one would stop.

What a drag.
I can't remember the last dream I had that didn't vanish after waking up. Must've been like six months ago or something.

I've had a couple of unreal dreams too. In one, I was in some strange and ancient land (it just... felt ancient). Sort of a wilderness with canyons and savannahs. Anyway, can't remember what I was doing there, but there were herds of kangaroo-like animals. After a while I noticed that they had wings and they took off, flying around. I felt wonder that they had evolved to fly. Then I realised I had wings, and I jumped up and took off as well. The immersion in the experience was total. I was flying, and every detail was there, the wind, a sense of shock when I looked down to see the tiny features on the landscape far below.
It's not so often I get a dream like that.

I've only had one Trek dream I'm aware of - it was fairly recently, yet I've forgotten the details already.
I did have a dream last night I was in a tour group of some Eastern European country, it seemed to be Russia because at one point I passed a whole bunch of strip joints on a waterfront by a river and thought "Volga? Vulgar more like!" (such wit I exhibit in my dreams, I'm ashamed). Then there was looking in a dubious flea market, and trying to buy raspberry- or banana-flaboured yoghurt beer (Christ, what did they put in the food at that Vietnamese restaurant I went to last night?) with a 13-unit currency note.

I've never had any Trek-related dreams, but I once knew a girl who said she'd had Trek-related dreams about the two of us. How did I let that one go, anyhow?

I once had a dream that I was a contestant at a Dragonball Z-type martial arts tournament. I was fighting against my brother. He got cocky though and I managed to knock him out of the ring. Woo Hoo!

Trek Dream:
While I was in grad school, I had this dream that my friends and I were all having drinks in my best friend's trailer, when there's a sudden explosion outside. We rush outside to discover Romulan Warbirds blasting the campus, and Romulan troops rampaging through the streets.
Suddenly, we're all dressed in starfleet uniforms, and carrying phasers. My friends start shooting back at the Romulan troops. I find a "portable plasma cannon" (think a big, futuristic looking gun 3 feet long with a barrel about 5" in diameter that shoots blue balls of energy), and start firing at the Romulan ships. I destroy 2 and cripple 2 more before I wake up.
And weirder.. as soon as my friends and I exited the trailer, "The Wanted Man" started playing as a 'dream soundtrack.'
Really cool Dream:
I have the power to fly, and know it. I take off from my parents' house to fly cross-country to the nearest town to show off my gift, but I land in a valley with a small deserted 'ghost town' feel to it. Everything is grey and foggy. The buildings are concrete, but they're missing all their windows, and there's debris in some places. I can tell that the town hasn't seen humans in decades.
I can also tell that something IS here, something inhuman and malevolent, and it's watching me. I can feel it from every building in the ruins, there must be a bunch of them. They killed anyone who came here before. Perhaps they are the reason that the place is deserted.
I realize then that I'll have to destroy them. I look down at my hands, and they're growing claws. And armor. By back has grown long, leathery, spike-tipped wings. I feel my teeth growing sharper. I let out a low growl. I AM going to destroy them.
Something moves behind me. I turn, snarling...
Than I wake up.

I'm not so screwed up after all reading these. Aren't dreams cool? Like role playing adventure games some of them.
But yeh, I get Trek dreams fairly often.

Who would have imagined that Rob would dream about gigantic guns...? :-)
Posted by Balaam Xumucane (Member # 419) on :
I had a very paranoid dream kind of like Invasion of the Body Snatchers but set in space with most of the DS9 cast. I wound up killing a disturbing number of pod-people, culminating in the death of Sisko. It was very intense and I woke up shaking.
I have since turned adapted the story to be the third episode of the pilot trilogy of my over-ambitious non-trek sci-fi show (which no one here cares about, but for which I still feel the need to shameless plug).

The only Star Trek dream I ever had was one where Neelix was like "I cook a mean Seven of Nine" and then 7 of 9 came out of a pot and started rampaging around the ship. I woke up confused...

I had a dream where I put my cats to work at a fast-food resteraunt 'cuz I wanted them to pay for their own litter and food. Then I realize they pay me in love, and purs, and the occasional scratches, and I never had that icky-wicky dream again.
Geez, Rob, even in your dreams?!

Actually, I think the big gun was probably a result of either:
Too much X-Men (Cable's guns) or Too much playing DOOM (The BFG).
I've never dreamt about "real" guns.
Though I did have a dream in which two kids destroyed the moon by pointing some kind of odd telescope at it and pulling it to Earth (it crashed in the Pacific, but clearly wan't as bad as it should have been.)
The resulting cataclysm floods most of the world, and I'm down at the docks on the last habitable land watching the last ship with a load of refugees and oil sail in. The code word that says that this will be the last ship is "Kevin Costner's dead," even though Kevin Costner was there in front of me.
Then all of a sudden I'm on the phone with some mysterious alien visitor (all anybody knows is that they arrived in this giant silver saucer the size of Connecticut) who's telling me that they'll save the world, if I'm willing to take on the 'planet debt.' I agree.
The next thing I know, I'm standing on tiptoes on the edge of a cliff... the houses I can see far off below in the distance are the size of dots. An old man in robes with long grey hair and beard is holding me, with one finger, by the back belt loop of my jeans, semi-dangling ne over the edge. He asks me if I'm still willing to pay the debt, which apparently involves being dropped from this great height. I say yes.
He pulls me back from the edge, says that the human race might be worth the trouble of saving it after all, and brings me inside where a bunch of people I don't know are having a party with cake loaded with icing.
Then I woke up.

A few years back, I had a dream about the Borg. It was like I was stuck in Star Trek: First Contact, maybe I saw the movie before bed. Anyway, I was running down a corridor with my friends from my Trek club and firing at the Borg with the phaser rifles and phasers. Then my friend Nikki removes her uniform and takes out a surface to air missle launcher from the cleveage that her thong bikini and fires at the Borg. Then I woke up soaking wet.

I dreamt last night that Flare was a real, physical place, that happened to look like Babylon 5. I spent a good deal of time in the dream wondering how Charles (and his partner, in the dream it was quite important that he had a hidden partner) convinced the various governments to incorporate a Star Trek message board into the thing.
I also fell in love with a very attractive girl who moved in next door, talked on the phone with another person named Simon who was pretty stupid, and for some reason took all of my laundry to a cafe.

This was a long time ago, but I dreamed that I went to a TV studio that looked like CBS on the outside but had a sign that said "WB". I went in and there was the TNG cast, shooting First Contact (this was after it came out), and they asked me to play a role in the movie. I don't remember much else, except that it was lots of fun and I was very disappointed when I woke up.
Posted by Malnurtured Snay (Member # 411) on :
I had a dream where I was on the TNG set and everything (including the chairs and rail) had this ugly tan carpeting on it.

I've had a few Star Trek dreams. The first involved me dying in a warp core explosion. I believe Liam called me a nerd for that and told me not to ever watch Transformers: The Movie.
There was another one just before First Contact came out. Actually, that was closer to a nightmare, but mega cool points for Scotty popping in there and taking command for a while.
I recently had an Enterprise dream. It was really cool. I got to go on a date with Hoshi Sato.
There were others, but some of them can go so far on the stupid and/or disturbing side that I'd not care to have a thorough examination of my psyche.
I have at least one Andromeda dream that I can think of. And for some bizarre reason, I helped Rommie and Harper hook up. Man, I was so stupid in that dream.
And, like Simon, I've had a dream about Flare. It was actually a convention where we all got together, I think. All of you were there (amazing since I don't know what most of ya'll look like). And I think Jeff and Stephen were singing Klingon Opera and drinking. Or something like that. It was funny. I took pictures. And there was lots of crossdressing.

I almost never remember my dreams, maybe 3 or 4 times in my entire life. I couldn't believe it when I remembered last nights! And with this thread here too!!
I was having dinner with Simon Cowell and Britney Spears.
Afterwards, Britney and I went back to Simons' place and watched cheesy movies all snuggled up on the sofa.
Really natural feeling dream. I liked it.
