I am vaguely similar to one of your top seven worst nightmares.
My worst nightmare couldn't stop me. It only made me less stable and more angry.
Who wants to make fun of it?

Did I miss something? Did you get booted off? Or didst thou just change thy name ala BWC?
Posted by Nim Pim (Member # 205) on :
How's about "The Late CaptainMike"? Would make for a nice abbreviation.
Posted by The BWC (Member # 818) on :
Why do you need a new Captain Mike? Did the original get banned or something?
Posted by Ultra Magnus (Member # 239) on :
Now with more carbohydrate?
Posted by thoughtychops (Member # 480) on :
So, Cap, did you try Pepsi Blue? Or Vanilla coke?
Posted by The New CaptainMike (Member # 709) on :
Aban: No, I took a weekend off of Flare becuase the general idiocy making me want to put a fist through a wall when I thought I'd find a couple of friends here when I had a problem last week.
Nim Pim: Screw you. 'The Late Nim Pim' sounds good too, if we're wishing for people to die. Thanks for the support, asshole.
BWC: No I didn't get banned. You must have looked into your own future.
UM: Actually, I've really cut down on my carbs.
thoughtychops: No and yes.
Posted by Ultra Magnus (Member # 239) on :
Maybe 'Late' meant you simply missed your period
.

hmm.. true enough. tell you what.. if it turns out that i called him an asshole by mistake because he wasn't being an insulting prick, i'll owe you a coke

It was like drinking a pastry, right?
Posted by Aban Rune (Member # 226) on :
I bought a bottle of Jones' Vanilla Soda last night, but have yet to drink it. Though I'm digging Jones' Cream Soda. Dang that stuff just rocks!
Posted by thoughtychops (Member # 480) on :
Vanilla Coke tastes excellent for that first two swallows. But it thereafter leaves a funky aftertaste, like a stale doughnut with bite.
It's too sweet, I guess. Jones' cola doesn't suffer from that.
Posted by Nim Pim (Member # 205) on :
You're damn right you misunderstood me, you gunjumping little ingrate, I was referring to T.L.C, the soul/r'n'b-tramps, or does abbreviation mean something else in the land of "What"?.

Yah... Jones has just the right amount of sweet. I had the Vanilla Soda for lunch. It wasn't bad. The vanilla was barely noticeable. It tasted like an oddly flavored cola.
I've got the blue one and the red one left.

Did I miss something? What happened to the previous CaptainMike? What's so new about this CaptainMike vs. the Old CaptainMike?
I personally like Vanilla Coke and apparently lot of people do. Everywhere I walk someone has a Vanillia Coke in his/her hand. Must be expensive to buy that much Coke at $20 a bag...
Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :
Bag? I've never drunk soda out of a bag before...

I like cheese.
Posted by Ritten (Member # 417) on :
It ain't easy bein' cheesy....
I tried several of the Jones Sodas, didn't like any of them much.... 3 years gone by now....
Faygo creame soda I like....
Vanilla Coke is good, although upsets me tummy after a couple bottles...
Diet Mountain Dew is my usual....
I remember when I drank beer or whiskey as my favorites.... maybe that was the problem with the Jones, since I have quit drinking since then.....
I could, and really should, post more useless information, but I feel that I may be treated like a placenamehere....

Shirley not?!
i like jones soda for the bottles with different art on them.. i have a huge collection, expecially the comic themed ones...
oh, ok Nim. BTW, i hadnt heard that particular TLC joke until now, and I owe you a Coke. Vanilla, of course.
also by the way, since i have been pegged as a leading expert in the history of soda pop (or luiquid candy as i like to call it), here goes... the current craze of flavoring familiar sodas is actually a new face on an old idea from 50s soda fountains where they could have one fountain and mix two syrups to come up with dozens of combos.. although Vanilla Coke isn't being marketed as nostalgia, is a decades old product being brought back.. the same thing happened over ten years ago when Coca-Cola revived the long dead Cherry Coke.
As of two years ago, when Johnny Rockets (a local 50s themed diner) opened, they offered Coca-Cola, Mr. Pibb, Root Beer and Sprite. But any of those sodas could be flavored with Lemon, Cherry, Vanilla or Chocolate syrup. Now, the soda companies are doing the same, offering not only Coke, but Cherry Coke, Vanilla Coke, Lemon Pepsi and Cherry Mountain Dew. Its a cheap old trick that scoring them tons of points selling soda to the public..
as to me, what can I say, jail changed me

ah, well, I know Vanilla coke has been around awhile, but usually you can control the amount of syrup you use...I like a dab, because a little dab'll do ya. There's too much in the mass market edition. ?
Maybe I need a sissy version: Vanilla Coke, with almost no Vanilla. Dab O' V. cola.
Posted by Aban Rune (Member # 226) on :
I'm with Mike... I love the packaging and marketing (or lack of same) that Jones does. No Skankney Spears, no Super Bowl ads... just darn fine soda. And the idea that you can participate in their packaging designs has me sold.
Let's face it... these guys just rock

Didn't get my little joke...
Vanilla Coke isn't all that hard to make. Back in the day, they would use regular Coke as a base and add flavoring to it in the soda fountains. Just add Vanilla to Coke...
Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :
I'm aware of that. But where does the bag come in?
Posted by thoughtychops (Member # 480) on :
Well, coke for fountain drinks comes in a bag which is inside of a box; you hook it up to a pump where it gets sucked out and mixed with CO2...maybe that's what he's talking about. Still doesn't make any sense though. Vanilla syrup usually comes in a bottle with a pump on top, like ketchup at Burger King.
I see no point in injecting it into those bags.
Posted by The New CaptainMike (Member # 709) on :
the restaurant i go to has a coke fountain (connected to a bag-in-box system which i am fully versed in assembling and cleaning) and then cherry, vanilla, loemon or chocolate are added by means of a pump squirter thingy. however, cherry coke (and presumably, now, vanilla) come as flavors mixed directly into the syrup also, and will come right out of the fountain like that. all soda is just sugar syrup with flavor added, whether it has more than one or not.

That shit is very nasty when consumed in its bagged, concentrated form. I was up for 6 months straight, and rewrote Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's complete bibliography with toothpicks on toilet paper while hanging upside down in my freezer after I had what was no more than a teaspoon of it.

that sounds a lot liek what happens when you snort pixie sticks.. sugar rushing directly into your brain is a real kick baby, but the headache is awful.
in my continuing quest to remain 17, i was hanging out on the street all stoned when a kid got the munchies and started eating cake mix from the box.. i took two lines of it and man, can i say, that i didnt sleep much that night and i also found it necessary to create my own new dance called the captain mike flip.
plus my loogies tasted like chocolate.. betty crocker, biotch

Once when I was little, I went on a rollercoaster ride six times in a row. The first times were full of the fun and the happy hooraity, but then, after the sixth time, I realized it wasn't as exciting as it had been, and I also threw up. So, I was bored and sick of it.
