I've waited all my life for this. I can't believe it's coming true.
Approximately 20 minutes ago, I got a phone call.
I've been chosen to be a Nielsen house.
I need my cable back right NOW. Since it was stopped, the only thing I watch on broadcast TV is "Enterprise" because I haven't seen them all.
Wow. I get to shape the face of television. You know what THAT means...."Will & Grace," Black-To-Black Mondays on UPN, & a copious amount of the Spice Channel. YEEEUH.

YES!
SHIK IS HELPING THE FUTURE OF TV!
Think about it. Think.

What, you mean I'm NOT supposed to watch "Will & Grace," Black-To-Black Mondays on UPN, & copious amounts of Spice Channel?
Please. I barely watch network TV. In fact, there's only 2 network shows that I watch religiously anymore; "Enterprise" counts not.

Remember: Avoid the Soap operas and chick flicks, go for pure destruction and the illicit sex. Whoo hoo!!!!

And what does becoming a "Nielsen House" incorporate, oh exclusively american one?
The Nielsen Company blesses your house with their presence, throwing keg parties and rave happenings like it was 1999, then scratching the symbol "N.H" on your door, for future Nielsen-associates that are passing by and need a hot meal and a bed?

And what are ze other two?

Well, they used to come out & hook up a little box to your TV that collected all sorts of ELINT on your television viewing habits ("Bob, there's a LOT of 'Baywatch' here...I think we're on to something.."), but then they realized that sending people out & building little boxes took a lot of time & money, so now they just sent out little diaries fo you to poop on. Er, lie in. Sorry.
Mr. BenSnay: the 2 network shows I watch religiously are "JAG" & "Crossing Jordan." I'll catch "Futurama," "Simpsons," & "Law & Order" if I happen to remember they're on/take note of the time/am home. I used t'watch a lot more....but most of it got canceled or hate time conflicts.

My family was asked to complete one of those diaries once, for two weeks. If one tries to complete it honestly, and lives in a household where the television(s) is [are] often left on for background noise, maintaining the diary can actually be quite a chore as all turned on televisions must be kept track of, even ones nobody is watching. At least they sent a dollar along with the diary as compensation and thanks.

My home was also on that program. We got to watch one rather pathetic pilot VHS tape that erased itself while we were watching it on purpose. I remember that more than the show.
And there were commercials for trains. Weird.

Shik watching JAG, I am flabbergasted. Futurama, the Season 1 DVD sold so good in Sweden that it's nowhere to be found. The shopkeepers all tell me the same thing, "if you find it, BUY it!!".

Okay, so when do you start influencing the future of American television?
By the way, I'm with Tahna Los on the whole illicit sex stuff. And cool 'toons.

ohm y god.. i just realized that, with the exception of the He-Man episodes i downloaded, the episode of Doctor Who i bought at the flea market and porno, i havent watched anything off a screen since.. hmm probably the Andorian Incident was my last flirtation with broadcast TV.. i stopped having any nights off when shows i liked were on and i ran out of tapes.. wow.. if you went back in time told me when i was seven that i would be TV free for six months and not care, i would bite your knee or perhaps use a GI Joe playset to castrate you. then i would eat more sugary cereal.. mm.. hold on..
back.. cereal made it alright

Pleh... I need cable but first I need a damn computer again. Not to mention a TV for watching. And I have no space for my old HP desktop and 19" TV.
I don't even have a clue what's going on with Enterprise anymore... much less any of the other shows I watched.
