Not since working for a defense contractor in Iran in '78 have I seen so many acronyms.

For those of you who need a translation:
2001 Mazda Protege ES with a 2.0 Litre Inline-4, 5 speed manual, Power Windows, Power Locks, Power Mirrors, Silver Exterior, Black Interior, Sunroof, Spoilier, Air Conditioning, Tint, Allow Wheels, Side Impact Airbags, Anti-lock Braking System, and Cruise Control.
I'm guess there weren't any Protege MP3s in your area?

Erm... The MP3 is more expensive than the ES. Last I heard, Liz didn't quite have Scrooge-McDuck-swimming-in-the-vault levels of income yet...

I was talking a used MP3. They had them in the 2001 model year as well. So it shouldn't be that much more expensive then a used Protege ES.

You know, that 5-speed manual transmission is the best accessory you could get. Learn it. Use it. Love it. Play with it. It will give you pleasure like you have never had before.

This obsession with manual transmission is reaching dangerous levels.

Yes, Liz, you will need to be prayed for.
Do you accept prayers to the Buddha, Rama, Yahweh, Allah, or just plain God?

My friends used to call a car that had cruise control on a manual transmission a "Lazy White Boy's Clutch."
This is a car joke that I never understood. Especially since they had one, and they were not white boys themselves.

Er, hmm. Don't get it. The only thing that's different about CC on a standard is that it disengages when you press the clutch.

"So [a used MP3] shouldn't be that much more expensive then a used Protege ES." Given the features of Liz' new car, there's a difference of a couple thousand, according to the Blue Book values.

I suppose it could just come down to them being idiots. It never made sense to me, but then, I was a white boy. We are apparently lame in all things, and could never understand the subtle humor of other ethnic groups.

How does one drive a file compression format? And can I store six hours worth of these cars on my iPod?

The MP3 model Protege came with a better stereo system that I believe accepted Memory Sticks, or at least could just read regular MP3s. I'm not sure if the engine was more advanced or not (or that was the Protege MPS).

OKay... well, I can officially drive a stick. Yay, me! I haven't dropped the transmission, the clutch still seems to work, and both me and my passenger for the day are alive. Thank you, Jesus! :-)
I love the car.... LOVE it! As soon as I get some film developed, I'll put some pictures of the two of us up :-)
Gotta go though... it's time to install the stereo TTYL!

Yes, because finding pictures of attractive women around cars is almost impossible. Damn our puritanical laws!
