I would so love to be on the cutting edge of all things wi-fi. But I am not, nor, I fear, will I ever be.

Wi-fi isn't that hard to understand, and the hardware doesn't cost that much at all, as long as something like a laptop isn't outside of your means.

Lunch was out of my means today.

Well, you are a philosophy major. What did you expect?
The point is that unless you're raising a family or otherwise need the money for more important things (like, well, eating) getting the stuff you need for it ain't that much.

Oh yes. Laptops are within everyones financial means. If I leave one at home, I just go and buy a new one. And then eat the old one.

No wonder the brits are rumoured to have such bad teeth...
Seriously, though. I'm not talking about buying a brand new three thousand dollar computer, with all the bells and whistles that you don't really need anyway. I'm talking about finding an old used one, the kind that you can buy for fifty bucks at the local computer shop, where you might have to do some work on it to get it going...
I mean, really. If you can't at least save up the money for THAT, what are you doing on a computer reading this post in the first place?

Starving myself so I can afford the monthly ISP bill.

If your teeth start to feel loose from the starvation, steal an orange, and eat that.

At least we got this far without a "silicon chips" joke.
