i've been using Opera for a while, but the fact that the java implementation seems broken and Opera doesn't always show pages properly has annoyed me. i finally downloaded the current version of Mozilla (i used it a long time ago, and i found it to be VERY VERY VERY slow) and they seem to have a very solid product now. java works, and every page i have been to displays properly, and it seems about as fast as Opera. it's nice being able to access my bank's website. always before, i had to open up nasty ole IE to check my balance. the pop up stopper doesn't seem to work quite as well as Opera's, but i have a dedicated pop up killer (panicwars's pop up stopper) that i can use for really nasty pop uppy sites. bravo mozilla!

Yes, Mozilla is actually a pretty darn good browser. I've recently discovered a Mozilla spin-off project called Chimera which uses the basic Mozilla framework, but is programmed in the Cocoa developer environment specifically for OS X, and is also supposed to be a "lightweight" browser. It's still a beta, but it's already a very sleek design and reasonably fast downloading. Once they have a finished version, I may just make it my new default browser!
I've already sworn off both Netscrap and Internet Exploder for all but the most dire feature-heavy websites, which at this point are very rare.
