Your account shows you have ten billion dollars, and you tell the bank it made a mistake???
They're honest in Sweden. Dumb, but honest.
(Because you know if this had happened to me, I'd have kept the money and used it to finance my Librarian Legions of Doom.)
"Child allowance"???

Rob,
And when the bank found out the mistake, they'd have corrected it. And you'd be liable for any money you had spent.

Only YOU would have taken that seriously.

When dealing with the mentally unstable, it's best to pat them on their head and not neglect their interests.
*pat* "It's okay, Rob, of course you'll conquor the world when the bank accidently puts $10,000,000,000 in your account." *pat*

There was something here a few years ago, a North Queensland man found he had 1 hundred trillion (yes TRILLION - and that's the English/Australian Trillion) Dollars in his bank account! LOL! Of course that is probably only $1.50 US

Yes, Child Allowance. We have it here in Canada, and I'm pretty sure that it exists in Britain and Austrailia. Something that will assist you in feeding a non-working dependant. And no, it is not a substantial amount, as indicated in the article.

It seems to be like the US kids that receive Social Security Income from a parent dying. They get some percentage of what the parent would get if they were alive and on SSI....
A friend of mine gets the Canadian SSI for her three kids, since a gas leak killed her Canadian hubby a few years back....

Okay. Are these allowances only for folks on welfare, or does everybody who has a kid get them? (Down here, you only get money if you're on welfare, if you aren't then you just take a deduction or they withhold less money from your paycheck.)

Riiiiiiight. Psycho.
On a side note, the number of Snayed deer I see on the interstate on my way to work has skyrocketed recently. The horror.

Actually, deer do have a somewhat unusual 'survival' strategy of jumping out into the road when they hear a car coming; my dad almost hit one when we were in the Shenandoah this summer.
Child allowance here isn't available to absolutely everyone but you don't have to be on welfare. I'm fairly sure the amount you recieve is calculated on your income.

Yeah, well, hurry the fuck up and stand in the highway until I come back so that I can get out of PA already.
