My god. The anti-bible people are almost as insane as the true-blue bible thumpers. Almost.

Daryus... it was a joke thing - I think it's an Australian version of something like The Onion. (I found out after looking around the site).

Did you ever watch the Election Chaser last year, or CNNNN on the ABC this year - I think it's those people. According to the site they have a radio program too 10pm --> Midnight Mondays and Thursdays on Triple M. (I've never heard it).

Williams has also pointed out that some of the scarier elements in fantasy novels will really frighten children if they think they are true. Some children may think that murderous Dark Wizards such as Voldemort (the villain of the Potter series) are actually real if theyve been corrupted by Christians who believe that devils and magic actually exists, he said.
In an aside, this reminds me of a friend that didn't mind horror movies but was really disturbed by the Bible as a kid. The reasoning being a God that smites entire cities, creates rivers of blood, tells people to sacrifce their children to prove their faith, etc. is someone that can really scare the crap out of you, especially since it was being taught as literally true.

To reiterate, God is like a fucked up version of Santa Claus. He can always see you, and knows when you're naughty or nice. Except instead of presents vs. a naughty list, you've got weekly church going vs. eternal damnation. Man thats a raw deal.
