In a recent company draw, I won a brand spanking new Playstation 2. Now, I already have a Playstation 1, and am aware that PS2 can play PS1 games. So, I am going to give my old PS1 to my girlfriend. Before I do, I need to ask the following questions:
1) Provided it would only be used for PS1 games, can a PS1 Game Shark be used on a PS2? 2) Can memory sticks from a PS1 be used on a PS2 and under what conditions?
Thanks.

1) Dunno 2) Yes, but only on PS1 games. The PS1 Memory Cards are much too small to store a save file from a PS2 game.
On the same note, an 8MB PS2 Memory card can save PS1 games, and it can store quite a lot of them.

I'm almost 100% sure that a PS1 gameshark doesn't work on a PS2. But only monkey-fuckers use them anyway.
And although a PS2 memory card can store PS1 games, it can't save them directly. If you have a PSOne game running, it won't recognise any PS2 memory cards that you have. You can copy the PS1 games to a PS2 card for storage, but for loading and saving, you need a PS1 memory card.

I think someone's hacked Psyliam's account info and a yankee is posing as him, only yanks use "monkey-fucker". Psyliam would've said bobbywobbler. I'm watching you! *shakes fist*

All my ps1 games play on my ps2, but on a couple there is a little degradation in the quality of the picture. Discworld Noir springs to mind. I actually had to play it on the PS1 as some of the text was too distorted to read clearly. That has been the exception rather than the rule though.
