Our new Land Rover Freelander, aka The Beast.

. . . Diesel Injection, Aircon, leather interior, light grilles and, um, photon torpedo launchers.

Yup, I'm now an evil SUV owner. I can now never criticise non-adherence to the Kyoto Accords, apparently. Like I care. 8)

Cripes, now if you could only by a gun and be a truly evil person you'd be altight....

Jeep won the war.

Land Rover sat on its ass and napped.

Ps -- cute garage.

A Land Rover? That uninspired hunk o' junk? How the mighty have fallen...

Hmmm, do all land rovers come with a decapitated head in the back back seat?

Posted by Vogon Poet (Member # 393) on :

That's my grandfather.

I like it. The only thing that I don't like are those fog lights that jut out of the bumper. Reminds me of the bumpers on a lot of old European sports cars so that they could meet US bumper requirements.

I know Discoverys and Range Rovers come with this, but does yours have little dials to tell you the orientation of the vehicle vertically and horizontally?

Posted by Vogon Poet (Member # 393) on :

None of the Freelanders do. . . But I've never seen any such thing on any 'classic' Land Rovers or Range Rovers either. Not that I was looking anyway.

Is that at your new house?

Posted by Vogon Poet (Member # 393) on :

I wish. No, that's at my grandparents'. Our new place is quite nice, though nowhere near as grand. The cats love it. You'll have to come see it before you go back.

Nice hedges.

He's coming over to the dark side. You'll know he's truly arrived in 4WD land when he gets a Defender Extreme.

...or a Lancer Evolution VIII.

Neither of which are available in this country.

They aren't?

You'll have to excuse him, he's a bit silly.

Well, seeing as where Lee posted a picture of his truck, I might as well post a picture of our pride and joy, my dad's truck. Its a bit salty in this picture, due to some snow we had on the weekend.

And here's another picture with the Focus in the way [Wink]

Can't beat those white-on-white license plates. :-)

Posted by Topher (Member # 71) on :

God knows what kind of weirdoes are out there. Just to be safe, I airbrushed out the license number. [Smile]

Posted by Daryus Aden (Member # 12) on :

Oh don't worry, if they really want to track you down they can use an aerial cloud formation shot to do a vector calculation your location. Cross referenced against the creation date of the image file, of course.

Don't forget the triangulating and juxtaposing!

Very nice vehichle, of course.
Tell me, will you get a nickel-plated shotgun to hang over the seats?
For symmetry, I mean. *shrugs innocently*

Lee, you have now hit old fogeydome...my dad has a Freelander...

Posted by Topher (Member # 71) on :

No shotguns. [Smile]

Posted by Vogon Poet (Member # 393) on :

Fogeydome? Isn't that the name of the upcoming Mad Max film?

The Thunder receded into Fog with a touch of drizzle? Makes sense I guess.

Oh yes, the number of crazed stalkers who'll have one window open at flare, and another at LicensePlateLocationDetailsForCrazyStalkers.com must number in the zeros.

On the other hand, we all have the number plate of Lee's car. Imagine the damage we could do! WE COULD APPLY FOR INSURANCE ON A CAR WE DON'T EVEN OWN! YES!

Hey, if anyone wants to insure my car for me, go ahead. If you want you can upgrade my Breakdown/Recovery cover from Roadside to Home Start too.
