I just recently downloaded a couple of songs and I'm having trouble with them. Once they're downloaded, I play them but after about 18 seconds they turn into machinelike sounds, kinda like what you hear if you put a CD-ROM in a CD player. Anybody else having troubles with this? My downloading program is KaZaA Lite K++, and I tried playing the files in Winamp 2, WMP7 (or whichever one came bundled with XP Pro), and KL's own internal player. The songs are "Another Postcard" by the Barenaked Ladies and "Boys of Summer" by The Ataris.

I think those are songs planted by RIAA or whoever to mess with people downloading music. A lot of dumbasses don't delete the bad songs and just let others get them as well.

Bleh. Guess I have to try and find the actual versions, which is annoying because I'm on dialup. [Frown]

It's happened to me on a couple songs. I don't download music much anymore, but the two most recent ones I've tried to get (within the past three months or so) have been like that. Celine Dion's "One Heart" and Dave Matthews's "Gravedigger," if anyone is interested in showing disgust at my musical tastes.

I'm inclined to thinks it's either the scenario that deadcujo mentioned or that it's people who fouled up a conversion. ::shrug::

Celine Dion's "One Heart"

Serves you right.

I've yet to run into a song like that yet, but lately I've been downloading older songs so I doubt I'd get any hits with that kind of stuff.
