The light show last night was kind of neat, too bad I could only see a little of the sky....

We should rename the sun Trogdor.
Posted by Jason Abbadon (Member # 882) on :
The sun's name is Kukolakka. Got that, pal?
Posted by The359 (Member # 37) on :
Hey man, don't mess with the might of Trogdor. Trogdor owns you. Trogdor owns us all.

And the weatherlady claimed this warm weather was because of the jet-stream. Ha.

Every time there's a chance we'll see the Northern Lights, it's always cloudy. No fair! And I live in the north of this country!

Burninating the country side ! Burnininating the peasants !

and the cities to the ground Harry, the cities to the ground too....
Solar Jet Stream....

Just wait 'til we get to feel the heat from some "solar flares" coming from a star that's not our own!
Drat, where's my SPF 10,000,000,000 lotion???

Trogdor comes in the Night!
He will Burninate all who oppose him!
Burninating all the peoples in thier thatched-roof cottages!
Anyone play the Trogdor game at Homestarrunner.com?

Trogdor is no match for Kukolakka's radioactive flares.

Consummate 'V's > Radioactive Flares

Yes, but mine grant powers via Cosmic Rays. Comic books told me so.

You think WE'VE got it bad with all these sunspots? Check out this poor star, which has about half of its visible surface covered in a single gigantic sunspot!

Every neighborhood has one dim wit... Solar and otherwise....
Posted by Harry (Member # 265) on :
It still beats being called a brown dwarf though..
Posted by Wraith (Member # 779) on :
That is one fat bastard of a star...
Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :
"Get in my photosphere!", as it were...?
Posted by MinutiaeMan (Member # 444) on :
Actually, a quick search reveals that this star is just a G5-type star similar to Sol itself. In that image, it's just that Sol has been thumbnailed for comparison, is all. Posted by Wraith (Member # 779) on :
quote: Tuesday's flare went off the scale, researchers say it was "well above X20".
This would make it the most powerful ever recorded, surpassing the X20 flares of 2 April 2001 and 16 August 1989.
Ouch!

So, when we're all debating Trek in hell, we can say "ahhhh....it's so refreshingly cool here"?
Posted by Balaam Xumucane (Member # 419) on :
"cool" is pretty much never an adjective to associate with debating Trek.

So let's move on - more appropriately - to Red Dwarf.... ;-)
Posted by PsyLiam (Member # 73) on :
The movie is going to be terrible, isn't it?
Posted by Austin Powers (Member # 250) on :
How should I know? I haven't seen anything about it yet. And I think I am not the only one there. ;-)
Anyway, if they are really going to use the CGI RD then I for one will not watch the movie.

Yeah! I mean for goodness sakes if they can't hold themselves up to the production values of the original series....
Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :
Well, they kinda have to use it, don't they? I mean, are they going to destroy the ship again, and have it rebuilt again, except this time in the pre-series-8 fashion?
Besides, if the main drawing factor of "Red Dwarf" for you is what the ship looks like, you have issues.
Posted by Austin Powers (Member # 250) on :
Actually I don't make that my main factor. But to be honest I never thought that RD after series 6 was really what I wanted to see. I think I stick to watching series 1 through 6.
Posted by Ritten (Member # 417) on :
Yes, having it called the Main Factor would indicate that there are other factors involved.
