They've successfully produced a couple of atoms of element 113 and 115 (Uut and Uup) respectively.

Ununtrium and Ununpentium!

by the way, ununtrium and ununpentium are just the IUPAC names... they haven't been given other names yet.

I dont get how this is imporntant.
I cant see using this to kill people for years to come.

....mabye we can split the atoms before they rapidly decay or something....

I finally got around to reading the linked article (well skimming it) and saw the term "Dubna gas-filled separator " but read "Dubja" and thought they were talking about Bush.

Take a look at the bottom two pictures on the right - clearly that's a model of their photon torp launcher assembly.
