Hey, Tim lives in St. Louis, a self-proclaimed baseball town. It's very hard to *not* follow the Cards around here.
(Of course, I'm a transplant, being here only 7 years. Grew up a Braves fan, still a Braves fan. Of course, I would prefer baseball to end in August to make way for football season.)

I only exhibit a passing interest where the local teams are involved. And pretty much just baseball and not-soccer football. And, even then, primarily just when they're doing well.

God I hate the Braves ... not as much as the Yankees though.
I've had the same Detroit Tigers hat since I was about 7 years old (damn it's worn out too). They're the team I want to see in the World Series if only because people say it could never happen.
