I looked up the website for the Wings of Freedom Airshow in Tullahoma, TN because I've seen some flyers here at work about it. While looking at their list of performers and displays, I come across "Star Wars X-Wing Fighter". WTF?!? I've been to lots of air shows (okay, none anywhere near California), and I've never seen anything like this before. If I were still in town this weekend, I'd go up to see this. Unfortunately, this happens to be the weekend I go back to St. Louis to move the rest of my family to Huntsville. So, is anyone else close that will be going to see this? I know Omega's in TN, but I don't know where.

It is probably just a static display.

Do you guys ever name anything without putting freedom or liberty in the title?

Oh they used to, before the dark times...before the empire.

Only because the repulsorlift isn't functioning.
Man, if that baby could only get to orbit, then you'd see some SPEED!

I'm in Nashville, but a lot of my family lives in Tullahoma, and my uncle works on the base. Unfortunately, I didn't see this thread in time to ask. Sorry.

On the Star Wars website, there was something about a full-size mockup of an X-Wing that is apparently being toured across the country, but since I'm not a member of "Hyperspace" I couldn't read the full article. Bet that's what was at the air show, though.

Apparently a company based in Tullahoma did some prop work for the original trilogy, including a full-size X-Wing prop. They got it after the movies were done filming, and eventually donated it to a local science museum. That's my cousin's best guess as to what that was at the show.

I found some other things on that list that made me say what the phuck-
ToraToraTora?
Trojan Horsemen?
Otto the Helicopter?
FedEx?
Also what's with the Airforce and Army recruitment stations, it seems you can't go anywhere nowadays without them showing up.
And as a final note, is it me or is the B-wing one of the most underated fighters in the star wars galaxy?

Underated? as in not popular? I dunno, Probably because the X-Wing is the most popular, everyone loves the X-Wing.

The B-Wing was only added to the last of the original movies and was only visible in two or three shots, never in good detail. Had it been present in the evacuation of Hoth, shown taking off from the ground and swiveling its main section down under the nose, there would definitely have been a faithful core of admirers from 1981 and onwards. As it is, the only close shot I've seen in (semi-)canon circuits was in a small trailer for one of the "Shadows of the Empire" PC games.

You tend to see it more in the video games actually. I prefer the A-Wing myself. Sleek, fast, and deadly.
