Our OA thought she was being cute when she created this little contest for the annual food & clothing drive. Basically, you guess what the items are and you win a free pizza. I think I've got most of them, but I thought I'd put the collective brain power here to work. Besides, she said we could get outside help! [Big Grin] I'll put my own guesses in a separate post so as not to contaminate the ideas. If I win, I'll be sure to think of you guys when I'm eating the pizza! [Razz]

(BTW, she also said if stumped on one, think "carrot"?!?)

The one with Gwyneth Paltrow & the baby references her daughter, Apple. Under that is PRUNES.

The woman & animal? KISSES, dude.

The one to the right of Popeye is a screenshot of Super Princess Peach, so I'm guessing that's supposed to be peaches.

Or, if you're a child of the 80's and remember Princess Peach as Princess Toadstool, you might be able to get away with mushrooms on a technicality. [Wink]

Could the kissing the dog be "Hotdog"?

Yup, child of the 80s here. The *exact* reason that one stumped me. Couldn't figure out why you'd want to give a baby mushrooms.

I assume the one showing the old central European buildings and the sausages is German sausage, though I don't know why they would be that specific.

And this is only a guess, but the Indonesian island being highlighted, Halmahera, is apparently also known as "Jilolo". So, maybe it's an extremely roundabout way of going for "Jell-O"?

Also, how do you get "shampoo" out of a picture of the Three Stooges and some hors d'oeuvres? Unless you think the Stooges are a sham, and hors d'oeuvres are poo. Nor do I see how ice dancers = rice.

And I can't even guess what diamond rings have to do with anything. Maybe you're just supposed to donate diamond rings. I suppose they could fit in the "clothing" category, and I'm sure the poor people would be happy to take them.

Oh, and one other thing : Princess "Peach"? What, did she get married or something?

So each picture represents an item of clothing or food? and the bracketed ones down the bottom? Do they form a sentence or a word or something?

Shampoo?? Shemp?

Oh and what is an OA?

Diamond rings = carrots/carats. I was going to say onion rings! [Smile]

What about the mobile phone above the 'T'?

How did you get 'diapers' from those patterns?

I'm thinking the one before the cell phones is "Vienna Sausages", not "German Sausages" (which Ive never heard of).

Well, she did say that some of these are a bit of a stretch. (OA = Office Assistant, the new word for Secretary.)

Stooges -> Shemp + food = shempfood ~ shampoo

mobile phone = razor!

For diapers, I thought "wallpapers" sounded remotely similar to diapers. It does fit the theme.

"Nor do I see how ice dancers = rice" I simply thought ice -> rice.

When I first saw OA, I thought, "Oh those wacky Guardians & their puzzles..."

"I simply thought ice -> rice."

But where's the 'r', then? I mean, they explicitly stated the 'a' for "tuna", after all.

"Stooges -> Shemp + food = shempfood ~ shampoo"

That would be a hell of a stretch, even if Shemp were in that picture.

"For diapers, I thought "wallpapers" sounded remotely similar to diapers. It does fit the theme."

I figured you were assuming it was a reference to the other definition of "diaper".

Cool! I didn't know about that definition!
