So, for those of us in Europe and North America, Daylight Saving Time has just ended. Those six months a year when we are legally permitted to gather and store daylight have come to a close.

I'm sure many of you are now sitting at home with your saved pile of daylight wondering several things. Could you have saved more daylight? And what should you do with your daylight now that the saving time is over?

The first year I actively saved daylight, I only managed to collect 3lbs (that was in the days before the metric system). Still, it would have been enough to last me through the winter, had I used it wisely. But instead I frittered it away, using it to read at night-time when I was too lazy to turn my bedside lamp on. By December I had no daylight left, and was forced to drive to work in the dark every morning.

I advise you, no matter how much or little daylight you've managed to save this year, use it only when it is necessary.

This year, thanks to much hard work, I have managed to save 18 kilos of daylight. This might seem like a lot, but I know how quickly it can be used up if I'm not careful. This is why I have chosen to put my daylight into a high-interest Daylight Savings account at the bank. I will make a daylight withdrawal only when necessary, and my daylight should easily last me all the way through to March. I advise everyone to do the same.

And for those of you in Australia, your Daylight Saving time has just begun! I hope you are all working hard to save daylight already, and not leaving it until the last minute. Summer may seem long, but before you know it, it will be March and there won't be much daylight left to save. Good Luck!

Queensland doesn't have it and I hope it stays that way despite the number of moronic southerners coming up to South East Queensland and trying to get the government to 'bring us in line' with the other Eastern States.

They don't seem to understand one thing. In summer, Queensland gets HOT, very HOT. It's not about cows and milking and getting children to bed - it's about coming home from work and waiting for the sun to bloody set. I don't want an EXTRA hour of hot Western sun to make me feel worse. In the morning - you can sleep through that hour of sun - in the afternoon - it's just tiring. Why wont they listen.

This is my first ever year were I had to set my clock back an hour. Living in saskatchewan we didn't have daylight savings time.

Now I hate it, I can't tell if it's 9 AM or 8 AM. I liked it better when the only hint of Daylight savings we had was the moving of tv shows an hour ahead.

Stupid fucking daylight. Who needs it anyways? Perpetual darkness would be way more fun.

Guys, guys...the official spelling is Daylight Saving Time, NOT SavingS. Just wanted to point that out. Also, you know, I think we should pool our pocket money and build a giant mirror to point the sun away from the Earth. Perpetual darkness! ...and, y'know, extinction of all life on earth but NO MORE SUN!

Didn't the Russians make a giant space mirror to reflect light onto some area that got too dark in the winter? Maybe that was just part of a weird dream I had or something... I remember them saying it'd be visible as bright as the moon at night, but it was never heard from again.

Anyway, here in London it got dark by about 4:30pm. That really sucks. I hate walking home in the dark. And now they're saying it'll get freezing cold tomorrow and won't get warm again till after winter. It's a blasted conspiracy to make everyone depressed.

Dude, there's already 3 inch's of snow on the ground here. You should've seen some of the pileups it caused.

OMG LOL! I was just looking out the window and I saw the neighbor get smoked by snow falling from the roof of his house. Poor bastard.

A lovely 78 degrees here- breezy too.
It'll probbaly stay this cold for a few more days before creeping back up into the low 80's.

Such is the Fall/Winter months here- a time of relaxation: no hurricaines to potentially prepare for and the laughable Christmas displays already up in stores (as though songs like "Winter Wonderland" hold any meaning here.

Driving down A1A today (the road stretching along our eastern beaches) I was happily ogoling the skimpy bikinis on the lovely women sunning themselves (and on a Mnday afternoon no less! Dont hot women need jobs?!?).
