Internet is 1 percent porn.

I'm actually surprised by that number. I would have guessed about 10-15 percent of the internet is porn.

I wonder what percent are Trek sites?

Posted by Da_bang80 (Member # 528) on :

Probably about half of 1%. I'm sure there are at least twice as many porn sites as there are Star Trek sites. Star Trek Porn sites probably even rarer still. Which is probably a good thing, naked Captain Janeway is right up there next to watching open rectal surgery in my list of pukerific visions

As opposed to watching closed rectal surgery?

I don't believe it. To quote "Scrubs":

I'm fairly sure that if they took all the porn off the Internet, there'd only be one website left, and it would be called "Bring Back The Porn".

That actually reminds me of a joke.

A proctologist decides he needs a change of career, so he enrolls in a mechanic school. The final exam rolled around and he got the top grade of 110%. All the other people in the class were pretty pissed so they confronted the teacher about it. He said: "I gave him that mark because he's the first person I've ever seen that could do a complete engine overhaul through the exaust pipe."

It seems low, but with sites like time cubed out there it may be possible.

1% is actually quite a lot.

I wonder is sites indexed by Google means pages, or just domains. If it's pages, then governments, libraries and major companies would probably have some significant % as well.
