"8. Bring guilty motorists and their victims together, at the appropriate time, so that they can undergo the liberating experience of forgiveness"

Would this really be a rule for drivers? Wouldn't this event take place somewhere... not in a car?

And how exactly would this work? "Hi, Mrs. Clark. My name is Bob. You don't know me but this is the man who ran your husband off the road last year. I thought you might like the chance to forgive him."

Not that I would ever question the Pope or anything...

And because God says it, it must be so...

Would the child slaves throughout the world be covered by this office? I am glad to see that they have their priorities in order.

Drive Safe!

Well they're obviously being ignored only because God hates them for just thinking about masturbation!

Maybe they published these rules because people are slightly more likely to pay attention to them? *sigh*

Well, we did, for comic relief, still though....

Do those rules apply to these?

Well, if my bicycle counts as a car for all applicable purposes (signalling turns, staying on the right side, etc.--I don't need a license, though) on the road, legally, I don't see why not.

Wait, your bicycle has turn signals?

Anyways, I'm sure some, if not most of those rules do apply to me when I'm on the bike. With the definite exception to #9. As I don't think there's any more vulnerable party on the road than a guy on a bike. Although I do feel much safer on that bike than any car I've ever driven, since I have a much easier time of avoiding the bad, stupid, or just plain careless drivers. The problem around here is that not many people really care about motorcyclists, and the whole "I didn't see you" excuse is usually a fat load of steaming bullshit. There are exceptions to that of course, but in reality they're few and far between. Most drivers just don't afford us the same respect they would if we were driving cars. Just a couple weeks ago I was nearly run off the road when some idiot pulled into my lane instead of into the right lane like he should have. He had his stereo blaring so he could hear me honking my horn and the only thing that got his attention was when I kicked his driver side door. I was on the yellow line at the time trying not to get hit by the oncoming traffic. After he noticed me he moved over just enough for me to get back into the lane and safely slow down. I took down his plate number and phoned it in, I found out later on that he was arrested for DUI and I have to go to court to testify against him. I'm actually looking forward to it since I met the judge at last years bike rally and he rides also, so I'm sure he'll be interested to hear my side of the story.

Rule #10 just makes no damn sense either. I think if all people were responsible for themselves and their own safety it would, in a roundabout way, translate into safety as far as the other drivers are concerned.

Well, Charles H might be a fasist ass hump... but blasting away with a mini glock H&K and Barretta 9Mil was fun (at the onbase range no less!)

what are we talking about here?

Oh, driver SAFETY....

a couple years ago, a retired AD1 from my previous command was killed in Detroit by some bitch blabbing on her cell...

"Do those rules apply to these?"

I guess it depends. Is the motorcycle Catholic?

A Sunday School teacher was collecting the artwork drawn by her students. Several of the students had drawn the standard, stereotypical biblical scenes. There was Noah's Ark with all the animals and a rainbow, Jesus on the Cross, Daniel and the Lion's Den, etc...

The teacher then came to little Johnny's picture. Johnny had drawn a long black limousine. In the back of the limo were two people, a man and woman. Up front driving the limo was an old man with a long beard flowing out the window.

The teacher asked Johnny what Bible story his picture depicted. Johnny replied; "Oh, that's God driving Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden."

Well, it rides like an angel but it's as mean as the devil. So I'm going to have to say it's somewhere in between. Maybe agnostic...
