1st of all: As far I know, Kobol and "The Void" are different things, so I find your title misleading.

2nd of all: I find this somewhat disturbing.

3rd of all: Have checked out Google Sky (There was another article on the site talking about it)

What?

In the original BSG series Kobol was at the end of a zone of emptiness.

Was at the end of. There was a big, huge Nagilum-style nothing between the Colonies and Kobol, plus an emission nebula.
