Except it isn't! Last Friday was. Hah! You missed your opportunity for drunken debauchery because the Catholics got all clever and shit!

HA! I'm Catholic & I didn't hear a thing about that yesterday at church. Of course, I wouldn't think I would considering it was Palm Sunday. I guess it makes sense to move it away from Holy Week when necessary.

The article says that the Vatican gave authority to move it to "Irish authorities". I don't know if that means it only applies to Ireland, or if they just said that because it's an Irish news service.
Here in St. Louis, there's an organization that holds a St. Patrick's Day parade every year, and the archbishop told them they needed to hold it on a different day.
They didn't.
(Frankly, though, everyone thinks the archbishop here is pretty much a dick, anyway, so it's not too surprising.)

Yeah, I remember him doing a few things that irked me since he was installed when I lived there. Glad I don't have to deal with that anymore!

THis whole early easter thing is weird. My school normally gives a week of vacation at easter, but this year, we get good friday, and Easter monday only. I think we have a week off in April though. Still messed up.
