When they market a light bulb as long lasting, I don't think they mean this long.

The city calculate the costs of using such an inefficient bulb and replace it now.

Some fucko will undoubtedly try to smash the thing due to the publicity.
Kinda shows how things used to be made- with the idea of the product working constantly untill failure- today everything starts out with a idea that it will be replaced with something better.

They visited that firestation on Mythbusters sometime last year. I forget what they were there for, though.

I think it was the one where they tested whether or not leaving a light bulb on is more efficient than turning it on and off.
