"Jack Thompson Guilty on 27 Counts of Misconduct; Final Ruling Falls to Florida Supreme Court"

http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/52778

Excerpt:
quote:
The outspoken Thompson is perhaps the most vocal and noteworthy opponent of the gaming industry. /../ Thompson most recently wrote a letter to "Grand Theft Auto" publisher Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick's mother on Mother's Day, comparing the chairman to a Hitler Youth.
They're talking about potential disbarment. So wonderful.

Only in Florida...

I think an appropriate sentence would be to force him to play a few violent video games to completion and then ask him if he felt like going out and killing someone.

This is Florida, baby!
Where Jeb Bush banned casino gaming (for over two years!) even after the voters overwhelmingly voted to allow it.
Where Evolution is unworthy of the classroom.
Where state constutional amendments are even now being written to forever ban Gay marriages.
Where elections are stolen and votes dont count.
Where cops fake reports to get bonuses based on case clearances.
Where the Sheriff of Broward is himself serving time for bribery and extortion.
Where a Mirimar city council member drew a handgun on a Win Dixie shopper because he thought the guy should have used the self-serve checkout.

There's much much more, but you get the general idea.

A high tolerance for the bizarre is needed here in the Sunshine state.

Good, i suppose. One more fucktard outta the way for Liberty...

Noooo...this martyrs him to the conservatives in Talahasse- ensuring him backing when he runs for office.
Nothing in politics is uncalculated- even the assinine antics.

Yet grumpy old intolerant people move there... [Wink]

I will NEVER move to Florida. EVER.

Dude. Tolerance for the bizarre? In Florida? Have you seen some of the pictures that come out of Japan?

You mean those clips of duck families (2girls) stopping traffic while crossing a tokyo street (1finger)? Come on. How pedestrian (no pun intended).

"Where state constutional amendments are even now being written to forever ban Gay marriages."

Hardly the best example. Other states wrote and passed those amendments years ago.

Nim: I was thinking more along the lines of things like ganguro girls and hentai and weird sick things done to naked girls in front of a crowd of onlookers.

Been to such shows (and far worse- see the Genitorturers show sometime) - the fetish scene is big here.

Well, there's already laws banning it, and another making it " a union between a man and a woman", but some folks are just certain some "activist judge" with an ounce of common sense will overtrn aid laws.....thus the amendment.

Today's news goodies include the sentencing of a public school teacher (she got 7 years in prison) that kept a orphaned hatian child as a slave for six years....the now teenager has never attended school and cant read or write as result.
-A man who has twice made headlines after having naked encounters with alligators -- including one that attacked him, has been arrested for missing a court appearance.
Naked. With. Alligators.
-Two Picasso etchings were heisted grom a West Palm Beach museum.
-Lake County deputy sheriffs have put a science teacher under the microscope after receiving a video that appears to show him wrestling with a Clermont Middle School student in a classroom and driving him head-first onto the floor.
Seems the same teacher had a kid in a stranglehold on another occasion.
Jesse Ventura would call it "Tough Love'.

...aaaannnnd it's well into the '90's for the weekend.

Speaking of right wing wackos...

...the descriptions of those comics use the words "unholy alliance" so much that the phrase loses meaning.

Wow. I can't tell if they're being serious or not. It has literally come to the point where there's no discernible difference between the far right's ideas and a parody thereof.

It's as though Stan Lee and Rush Limbaugh were in a transporter accident.

Which presumably drove them even further insane!

Sean Hannity as a robotic armed, underground-guerilla-freedom-fighter.

Heh.

I know, right? You just know that in real life he wouldn't give up the spotlight long enough to go underground.
