With all the fucked up shit going on as a result of Hurricane Sandy, I thought it might be a good idea for those of us on the east coast to report in and let everyone know they're okay.
Sandy hasn't reached New Brunswick yet but its making its way... nothing major happening yet.

For once, south Floria was spared and the rest pf the coast hosed...I feel for their plight. NYC looks particularly fucked this morning but it's the million people with no power and no easy access to emergency services that I'd worry about- it's already plenty cold up north.
It's nice to see people stepping up to meet the challenge- seeems like people are looking out for each other instead of just for themselves- storms can really bring out the best in people.
This thing might really fuck up the elections next week though...

The center of the storm passed about 15 miles north of my apartment (New Castle, DE). I was lucky; nothing but wind and rain, not even a power outage. A couple of friends were in the evacuation zone. It sounds like the worst is to the north and east of where I am.

Lots of wind and rain in Baltimore, Maryland, but no power outage. Unfortunately I had some bad luck...the new house that my wife and I just bought now has water damage on the ceiling and walls. Of course, putting that into perspective, at least our house is still standing.

Jesus, no kidding. If Romney gets into office the whole decade will be in the shitter- endless Star Wars movies, the inevitible Avengers/Disney/Star Wars video game crossover, some inevitible fabricated war....
And it'll all be George Lucas' fault. He'll be laughing from his ranch, slowly going insane like Howard Hughes....

All good. DC largely escaped the brunt of the storm, the Metro closed as a precaution Monday and half of Tuesday - there was literally no public transportation in this city, which was weird. Work closed for two days. Had plenty of food, and I live in a prewar building that rarely loses power.
Best wishes to those in the tri-state area. I just made a donation to the American Red Cross.
