Statistics on the Vietnam War

"I'm looking for someone to change my life.
I'm looking for a miracle in my life.
And if you could see, what its done to me...
To lose the love I knew, could safely lead me to
The land that I one knew...
To learn as we grow old, the secrets of our souls."

74% would go again, even knowing the outcome? How did they get that statistic now...?

Perhaps 74% of the ones who survived would go again knowing the outcome, but, then again, that really says extremely little. They would have gone for a year, survived, for their country (even if it's my personal opinion that the Vietnam "incident" was a mistake), and gone home once again.

I seriously doubt 74% of those who died would also contend that with foresight of the outcome, they'd have still gone.

Of course, if they specified they meant the Vets, I wouldn't go this far, but it just rings badly to my ears.

Westmoreland is more out of touch than the probe that crashed into Mars.
