Hey, I heard that yesterday, the news broke in Canada about a secret RCMP report that indicates that Chinese triad organizations and Hong Kong groups have been infiltrating Canada's political and business arenas.

This according to yesterday's issue of the London Free Press, among others.

Today's issue contains an opinion piece about the govt. efforts to hush the report up.

Hmm... Maybe the people who have been saying the US is paranoid about China might chuckle a little less heartily now...

Hell, the U.S. was taken over by the Chinese ten years ago.

Papa Johns Pizza in the U.S. is really a front for the Chinese Intelligence Bureau.

Speaking of Papa Johns, do any of you European posters have them over yonder?

I never said China wasn't a viable threat. I said China wasn't a viable threat as regards nuclear first strike. It's simply not their way.

Anyone ever read "Flood Tide" by Clive Cussler? In it, he makes mention of the fact that by 2060 or so, the US will effectively be 3 nations: the Asian-dominated "Pacifica" stretching from mid-California to just north of Vancouver, the Latino-dominated "Hispanica" running from lower California, across the southwest into Texas, & then the US.

I happened to be able to ask him where he got the idea & the figures during an online chat thing about a year ago. He stated that they were real figures from real documents published by INS with declassed background info from the FBI & NSA. Basically, they're subjugating by infiltration. Classic Chinese (& Roman) policy.

That would make a great episode of "Kung Fu."

Of course, that assumes that racial identity is the most important guiding principle in daily life, a fact which the entire existance of a nation like the United States (or most any western democracy) seems to refute. Economic class, for instance, tends to trump race.

Shik: How many people in this country do you think have the slightest idea what any of those are, except "Jew" (which is a religion affiliation, not a racial one)? You ask most Americans what a "Kurd" is, and they'll probably say "Like 'curds and whey'? In that Little Miss Muffet thing? Hehehe... 'Muff'..."

*giggles* Muff.

I didn't know that meant something in the US, Interesting...

BTW, regarding "Jew (which is a religion affiliation, not a racial one".

Now, this has always stumped me. Don't Jews tend to be of a certain race (dark hair, big nose, and so on). For example, watching Friends, it's more obvious that Monica's Jewish than, say, Chandler. Of course, it's not always the case (Billy Shatner), so I'll stop blabbering on about his non-point.

Regarding the race thing, you haven't lived in certain areas of the US. There are some street in the poorer areas of London where no-one can speak English, 95% of the population are Asian, and most of them are extremely proud of their original home country, often to the point of racism. God, I miss living there. The guy next door to us still owes me 10...

I think the fact that many of the participants of Judaism look similar in facial features and whatnot, is simply due to the fact that many of Judaism's roots are to be found in Israel, who are essentially the same race.

Right. So, if you want to refer to "Hebrews", or something, that's a race. But, someone decides to convert to Judaism from whatever they were before, have they changed their race? Of course not.

Race?
Car Race?
Rat Race?
Human Race?
We call butterflies not by their species name, but by a general butterfly. What makes humans any different?

Hebrews seem to have changed in appearance. Seems to me back in the prime of the Industrial Revolution they had red hair and during WWII they had blond hair.

Since there's no appreciable genetic variation between the Israeli people and those of the surrounding nations, 'race' is probably highly innacurate. It's a religious difference only. You put a native Israeli, Lebanese, and Jordanian in a lineup and I'll bet it'd be hard to tell them apart. the interbreeding, whether its admitted to or not, is millennia old, and still continues. So there.

And as for butterflies... some of us CAN tell a Papilo glaucus (Tiger Swallowtail) from a Danaus plexippus (Monarch).

My color vision causes me a few problems with some kinds of identifications, and I figured butterflies are a creature with good color variation.

Got one of them types of colorblindness?
Me too.

Apparently, mine is a difficulty in distinguishing between certain similar wavelengths of light... sometimes. My Opthamologist was puzzled by it. I can tell MOST colors, but some blues look green, some greens look grey, etc.

Oh, and I'm colourblind, too. With dark colours. Or so the doc says. *shrug*

They, researchers, say that 88% of men and 12% of women are colorblind to varying degrees. Should've seen me dress myself as a kid..... it was awful, or so I'm told..... I didn't see anything wrong....
