Can someone tell me what "Dubya" means? I keep seeing this name pop up, and it appears that it is the people who don't like him who are actively using this name.

Sorry to fan flames, but I'm itching to know, and how it came about.

They took it from the "W" in George W. Bush. "Dubya" refers to how a Texan would pronounce the letter.

I'm rather partial to "Mini-Me" myself.

This being what Al Gore, Sr. called his son.

I personally prefer the pronunciation used by the majority of the media. "Dub-ba-you."

I understand it was given to him as nickname by the Republican Party in Texas, mostly to differentiate him from his father.

Well? It threw me. I kept thinking this "George Dubya" was some kind of George Soros character, some adviser or whatever.

"Dubya" is now the most common nickname used by the media when they want to satirize him (namely Comedy Central).

Though it will go without saying ten minutes into these preceedings, View Askew would like to state that this film is - from start to finish - a work of comedic fantasy, not to be taken seriously. To insist that any of what follows is insensitive or inflammatory is to miss our intentions and pass undue judgement, and passing judgement is reserved for God and God alone (this goes for you film critics too...) Just Kidding
So please, before you think about hurting someone over this trifle of a film, remember God has a sense of humor. Just look at the platypus. Thank you and enjoy the show.
P.S. We sincerely apologize to all platypus enthusiasts out there who are offended by that thoughtless comment about the platypus. We at View Askew respect the noble platypus and it is not our intention to slight these stupid creatures in any way. Thank you and enjoy the show.

Well, it's not our fault that you have bastardised "double-you" to the point of incomprehensibility.

Which just goes to show democracy doesn't work. They want to be separate from the rest of the US. The rest of the US wants them to be separate too. Yet are they separate? Noo. . .

Heh, the same goes for our southern province, Skne. They talk all farmer-like too. In fact, whenever there's a swedish-dubbed cartoon with a redneck he's dubbed with a sknish accent. They have their own flag, also, and would like to be a separate country, as do we.

Yes there is Vancouver in Washington State.. the city is across the Columbian River from Portland, Oregon.

While I am sure that the Columbians have many rivers, and fine and mighty rivers at that, here in the state of Washington we are stuck with the relatively fine and partially mighty Columbia.
