Not one of America's most loved politicians then.

Heh. I love it when Liberals cheer someone's death. It's like watching Christians hit people.
That said, I won't particularly miss ths guy, either.
Even if he was, like many other Congressmen who remained Democrats, ("sheets" Byrd and "now and forever" Wallace spring to mind) only a segragationist because his constituents were.

Yet more evidence to support the statement that only the good die young.

Not cheering his death, merely cheering the fact that he no longer has the power to do the things he wants and his bad opinion is gone as well.
I never realized he had retired last year.

You think segregation is a good thing?

No...?

Perhaps they mean that because Thurmond apparently reformed and accepted blacks, much like George Wallace (yes, he did), you are against his opinion. But they should know you mean "bad opinion" on having the US be segregated.

Um, yeah, I hate his racist attitude. He never did say he was in the wrong for what he did back in the 50s, so I don't really think he fully "reformed".

Of course, one can't be sure he was really in favor of segregation in the first place. Sounds like he just said whatever would get him the most votes at any given time.

I said "apparently" reformed. I Should've put reformed in quotation marks, though, and probably Wallace, too.
