So, who's the Jonah ?

Of course, given the history of wars fought with German subs....

Fuck you.

--Jonah (been getting goddamned whale jokes since I was five years old)

I'd think your mom would be more sick of them than you.

The whole "belly of the whale" bit and all that...

So, Israel is getting subs- I really doubt this is going to deter psychos from wanting to destroy Israel.
Iran is in it for ther concesions it will almost certainly get for suspending their nuclear program.
Can you say "Extortion"?

And can you say "realpolitik"? They're playing the same game as everybody else, you know.

Israel has HAD subs. Many nations do, so many that you might be surprised.

So, when do we sell Israel one of our old aircraft carriers? The Kitty Hawk and the JFK would be prime candidates.

Posted by Shik (Member # 343) on :

We don't sell supercarriers. we mothball them & then eventually scrap them or museum them. Except Forrestal. She gets to be training carrier. Other than us there's Brazil, France, India, Italy, Russia, Spain, Thailand, & the UK with anything that can even remotely be considered a carrier. Although the Chinese have been trying for years to get an unfinished Russian carrier hull.

Well, EXCEPT for U.S.S. America.

Sad....REALLY sad.

But necessary. Saratoga suffered a similar fate 60 years ago.

They are nuts! They are crazy in the coconut!

I'll start getting scared when the US sells Israel that laser gun that's supposed to blind people. The one featured in a thread here god knows how long ago. Imagine the implications! They could use it to blind Santa while he's delivering toys to all the good little boys and girls!

Posted by Nim (Member # 205) on :

Um, that was invented and immediately banned in, like, 1992. It could blind about 100-200 people per discharge and was deemed inhumane on the spot.

Posted by Da_bang80 (Member # 528) on :

Yes, I seem to remember that also.

We've had Santa on the payroll for years now- that new VTOL Joint Strile Fighter uses pure Reindeer technology to lift off.

While it's very ulikely, if the U.S. were to ever face invasion, I bet all those "banned for humanitarian reasons" weapons would be brought to mainstream use.
If nothing else, you can bet the technology is being researched to develop counter-tech to it (just as we do with chemical and bio-weapons).

Actually, only North Korea and Iran are doing that particular dance.
Judging from what a shithole North Korea is, you'd think Iran would find a better role model to follow. (shrugs)

Mirrored sunglasses?

Wouldn't help so much at night. Unless you're a tank driver, they just roll over everything anyways.

Correction, they did ban one rifle in 1995, it was too strong.

So they came up with this, going out of their way to be lame with the naming too...

What about the microwave thingy? I don't have a link cuz I read about it in a magzine a year or two ago... a microwave dish that heated the water in the dermal layer of the skin up almost instantly. Supposedly anyone in the path of the beam felt like they were on fire and screamed in agony and fell over and all that cute stuff. Also supposedly, there isn't any damage done, because the skin cools off once the microwaves are turned off.

EDIT: Microwave ovens, of course, also work on the water in the thing you're cooking and not the thing itself.

Let me be the first to quote from "Eureka"

"So its a ray?"
"Yes."
"That causes instant death?"
"Yes."
"Then why don't you just CALL it a DEATH RAY?"
